Mendes had to go didn't he, was lucky to get away with an early late challenge on Baros. he'll be missed next week but it will at least give another a chance...

once again though we have not finished a team off, and paid the price. I heard people blaming Sol but he has saved us more points that he has cost, the reaity is we still dont have another prolific goal scorer. Before he came off Lua Lua had made it clear he wasnt going to pass to anybody, and benjani will get 5 in a year if he is lucky. We now have lost our two point advantage over the other teams around us and so cannot afford to slip up next week nor lose away to the Arse in two weeks time. That's of course if you are l;ike me and want to be in a Euro place for the January transfer window.

Always likely to be a toughie & we may look back & think on another day we should have won. Not creating much thry the middle of the park but a lot down the channels. Put O'Neil in the middle with Fernandes.

we did well to get ahead an then fell asleep

I without doubt want us to be in the top six come January, as I've said before we need to be their to be able to attract the type of players we want. Even though we are a "small club" compared to others if we are up their players will have their heads turned...

Villa fans have the same thoughts. We want to be near the top to offer any newcomers Euro footy. Getting a bit tight though isn't it. You lot seem a little more settled than us and we're a little unpredictable. Roll on January.
Gazvilla
There are plenty of teams in or around the top positions so it should make for an interesting season, United and Chelsea are away but as many as potentially 10 others can battle for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th including Pompey and Villa, roll on January indeed...
