What Hart said post Everton... with my own thoughts too

To have gone a goal down so early in the game did always leave plenty of time for us to get back into the game, but heads could have dropped - thankfully they did not and in all honesty for most of the game after that there only looked to be one winner really, and thankfully despite some shocking refereeing and a terrible linesman (sorry assistant!) on the north touchline, a fella that I recall, I think it might have been Swansea in the FA cup, we got the job done.

Well Paul Hart, when he was talking to sky sports after the live encounter, was delighted with the way we recovered from the setback and proved this togetherness of the team: 'after a poor start, I thought we were excellent.

'We were all over the place but we got it together, composed ourselves, and started to play.'

The goal that Peter Crouch scored at Boro last week was always one that most of us then felt would lead to others - that is usually the way with the big man, he will not score for ages then he cannot stop scoring - and sure enough his double was enough, and this too brought plenty of praise from Hart'I have seen this boy since he was 16 and I've nothing but admiration for him. He plays at the sharp end of the team and he does a great job.

'People don't know how big this game was for us. Everton have been beaten something like once in 18 games so it shows you the task we had and I thought we were excellent.'

Without the support that he needs it is apparent that Crouch cannot do the lone striker role really, but we are starting to offer him more support, which shows. I am a self confessed fan of his, and hopefully this latest showing will get those that refuse to get off his back off it...

Of course we are by no means safe yet, but took a big step towards it. 'If only's' mean nothing, but had we seen off Boro last weekend we would have been all but safe now, that said we would have settled for 4pts from those games... Well this win left him, as well as us, a lot more confident than we were, but we still have work to do, roll on Hull! The break between now and then will be a lot sweeter than it would have been!

"anything you can do, we can do better" (apart from being offside, and possesion...) - double there shots, double there shots on target, double there corners, fouls, yellow cards... and more importantly, double there score.

How did you get down there Carpet? Anyway, I thought the match was fantastic, am surprised that we had more fouls than them - but I suppose that Ref didn't exactly like us, did he? I am pleased for Crouchie and just hope that Nugent will get another goal soon.

It made for a very happy weekend for me! Shame we now have a 2 week gap to wait and likely that the momentum will be lost.

Watched this game on TV and the stats reflect what happened. You were the only team that looked like winning.

agree with those thoughts Thaiblue, altho the fouls stats are prretty unkind to us as we never really committed that many 'wrothwhile' fouls, the ref was shocking...
