| What Hart said post Boro, with my thoughts too... We were all left gutted, I would certainly say not surprise, but gutted that we tossed away yet another poxy 2pts, but thankfully it was not worse - and had it not been for England's no.1 with the last action of the game it would have been... Apportioning the blame will not make up for anything, or change things, but all in all we got what we deserved really as we sat far too deep for a good 30 minutes. Unfortunately (or should that be fortunately) I was unable to make, the what, 12-14-hour roundtrip journey but I could see this and said as much as the game went on - even before Macca! - hell, even Stevie Wonder could have seen what was always likely to happen due our negativity and lack of invention. Yep, we were well and truly the architects of our own downfall on Saturday, and basically got what we deserved - Boro might have 'snatched it' in the sense that it was at the death, but we could not say we had not been warned, we have had this happen enough times this season! But enough from me, what did Paul Hart make of the days events when speaking to sky sports after the game? Well, lets take butchers: 'I think there is an element of disappointment, but I have to give the players credit - you saw today the desire. I just thought it was immense and on any other day we might have got the three points. 'We have set our stall out to stay in this division and whoever plays us is going to find it difficult, but we have had chances in every game. 'People are going to be bobbing in and out [of the bottom three], and I just want to make sure my players are in the right frame of mind and doing what is necessary. 'Sometimes in desperation to get a result you just try to hang on. We have shown our desire and our determination to stay in this division. 'I could quite easily have pushed somebody on. I could have opened up the game, so on that score I don't think you can blame the players but we decided to shore up and try to get a result. 'If you look at most of the game we had coped with everything and some of our performances were tremendous.' I, and many others have been very complimentary of Hart since he took the hot seat, firstly in a 'temporary role' and now in a 'full time temporary role' so although it is easy to jump on the 'it is all your fault' bandwagon, I will stay just in-between for the time being, not sitting on the fence taking the easy route out mind. Well, actually I will say his decisions - or lack of - did cost us a couple of points against Boro and although maybe this was a one off this has only added to my thoughts that in the short-term he is a fine addition, but if he was appointed 'permanently' in the summer I would be very concerned and feel apart from the wealth of experience he has would we really be in a better position than we were under Tony Adams, and he was slated for his decision making, or lack of... | ||||||||
