Pompey's best 11 - MikePTID

Pompey's best 11 - MikePTID
Not necessarily the 'best' 11 on ability as otherwise they'd all come from the squads of last two seasons!

Alan Knight (Not as good a keeper as Jamo but gave the club outstanding service, playing in all 4 divisions.)

Warren Neill (A good club servant who rarely had a bad game.)
Arjan De Zeeuw (Top leadership.)
Linvoy Primus (Genuinely great bloke and a tower of strength. When playing with Campbell, the uninitiated would have struggled to identify the man with 50+ England caps.)
Matt Taylor (For no other reason than scoring the penalty at Wigan to keep us in Prem.)

Robert Prosinecki (Simply the most skilful player I've seen in a Pompey shirt.)
Paul Merson (Should really be amongst the forwards, but without him we'd still be in Fizzy Pop league.)
Darren Anderton (I'd probably add him to my midfield to make up the eleven!)

Guy Whittingham (Goal machine.)
Paul Walsh (A player who always got me on edge of seat when in possession.)
Alan Biley (Talismanic forward who played with a smile.)

Notable absentees
Peter Mellor, John Milkins and David Best.

Steve Foster, Kit Symons, John Beresford, Paul Went, Steve Aizlewood.

Norman Piper, Joe Laidlaw, Vince Hilaire.

David Kemp, Mark Hateley, Colin Garwood.

fantastic stuff MikePTID, there are several names there that will come close to being in my selection - with more than a few likely to get in... this is exactly the type of thing we are looking for on the feature fellas, and with MikePTID taking part this shows that bringing those back to vital pompey that havent been aound for a while is more than possible! there will be another next week.

Great stuff PTID not the most defensive side you will ever see but probably contains a fair number of my final 100 players. Good start to a great idea of either Chix or me?

Quick off the mark there mate. I've got down to about 30 players & I am struggling to get to 11, Some great players there & thankfully saw them all.

yep i can also say that i saw all of them, the vast majority in the felsh, the others on the box... ive had a fantastic repsonse to this so far, with emails from several people ive never had contact with before, and ive had contact from many, many of you - and do keep in touch with you... there have been some fantastic names mentioned, one team i just got through has thrown my midfield into chaos...

geez, i dont even know where to start, I just know Utaka nor Kanu will be in!

Mike - Don't think we've come across each other before.. welcome or welcome back whatever the right expression it's good to have another fan on site. Your selection is great and some names will definately feature in my 11 when I do it... Must've been hard to leave out Milkins, Went, Piper and especially David Kemp.. but who could you drop? Corporal Guy, Walshy or the blonde bombshell himself.. I think I might have to name a team with 4 wingers and 7 strikers to fit all my heros in .. oh but that would mean leaving out Neil Webb... I just know this is gonna take me months...

Double figure aim for Baker

Goals are in the game of Baker; we've seen this already as the midfielder has scored four for Pompey since his arrival from MK Dons in the summer. His aim is at least 10-goals.
