Mark Lawrenson and his big crystal balls 3

Mark Lawrenson and his big crystal balls 3
He gave us the 'kiss of death' against Spurs on his BBC predictions page after predicting a Pompey win, he was right with his prediction of a Liverpool win, now after a few games without seeing what he said - and probably not even caring if I am honest! - he is tipping a draw with Ipswich this weekend in the cup, he predicts:

I have a feeling this could be a really good game as Ipswich's home form is tremendous and Portsmouth's away form is similarly good.

I'm intrigued to see how Ipswich will cope when faced with higher quality opposition but I suspect they can force a replay against Harry Redknapp's side.

Verdict: 1-1.

well that means it wont be 1-1. we have only gone out to the big 4 in the last 6 years or something stupid, so i fully expect us to qaulify on saturday

yep, good call mate, more often than not what 'lawro' says it aint! scum beat us a few years back didnt they - that defeat was a painful one...
04/01/2008 15:22:00
oh yeah. but still our fa cup pedigree should be enough to see off ipswich, hopefully.
04/01/2008 15:28:00
erm actually rug as a confirmed Lawro follower and him being a big influence on my confidence about my weekly 10 bet i can tell you from the state of my account, apart from December 07 when he blindly put us down to win more often than not what Lawro says.. it is
04/01/2008 17:47:00
i think we will struggle to win
04/01/2008 17:48:00
I'm not sure we want a replay. I think we'll nick it by an odd goal. Odd as in 1-0 or 2-1. Not odd as in off the refs arse.
04/01/2008 18:02:00
Lawro eh... still has the job I want - Talk about football all the time, predict the scores, don't get sacked no matter how wrong you are and get paid for it ... Whatever did he do to deserve it .. I'm going for a 3-1 Pompey win.. We'll go 2-1 ahead and as Ipswich pile forward to try and force a draw and manitain their home record Kanu will sprint down the middle rounding three players as he goes, dummy the keeper then unselfishly square the ball to Nugent to score ...
04/01/2008 19:02:00
LOL you were doing real well there until the Kanu sprinting bit.... You think Nugent will start then Chix
04/01/2008 19:17:00
Lawro is a idiot, he doesnt understand the game! How can he predict 1-1s and teams sneaking wins, with a feeling, he always predicts us to win the games we lose, and lose the games we win, he doesnt have a clue, plus the fact that he is biased towards liverpool, Sky Sports should have a MOTD, with jeff as the anchor, with mers, phil, paul walsh, and alan mcanally in, that would be far better, and alot more unbias.
04/01/2008 21:24:00
Lawro voted for Paul Scholes over Matt Taylor for goal of the season last year, verdict, the bloke is an *********

Seven month consultation yields result

There was much speculation about what would happen, what the final outcome could bring and how happy - or disappointed - this was going to leave us. The new Pompey club crest is known.

Oldham - 17th March - Boundary Park

The recent form at Fratton Park has been terrible. Then again it's hardly stunning away from the South Coast, but we'll hope to put Oldham under pressure and collect a much-needed win.
