The PFC Viagogo Ticket Exchange

The PFC Viagogo Ticket Exchange
Buy & Sell Pompey Tickets via portsmouth.viagogo.co.uk

Pompey have today launched the 'Ticket Exchange' a way to buy and sell home match tickets that do not normally come on to the market.

All the Marketing blurb is below for you to read, but in essence this is a way of Season Ticket Holders being able to sell unwanted tickets and Non Season Tickets Holders being able to get better seats in the ground.

No more sitting in the Milton End for that one-off visit to Fratton Park.

Have a read and if you've any questions - post them at the bottom of the article and I'll do my best to answer them.

Selling tickets on the 'Ticket Exchange' is the best way to get cash for your extra seats

Buy Tickets in 3 Easy Steps
-------------------------------------------

1. Find Your Tickets - Go to Portsmouth.viagogo.co.uk and browse the wide selection of tickets posted for sale by Season Ticket Holders

2. Purchase Tickets - When you find your desired seats click the 'Buy' link & create an account. Buying tickets on the 'Ticket Exchange' is safe, secure & 100% guaranteed

3. Receive Your Tickets - You will receive an email confirmation that includes information about how your tickets will arrive.

It really is that simple - Chelsea & Celtic run similar schemes and they are very successful - It means that all the seats get used and for once the supporters and not necessarily the club are the winners.

Well-done Pompey for this one. It's great to see you thinking about the fans.

It's a brilliant idea and an oh so simple one - It means that those parts of the ground that are empty when season ticket holders don't go can be filled ... It'll give non season ticket holders the chance to stand in the Fratton End, South Stand or wherever is normally 'out of bounds' - I know guys from Chelsea and Celtic who use a schene like this all the time and love it - It's a win-win if ever there was one.

And the beauty is that tickets are only ever sold at face value. No room for touts here.

This sounds like an excellent idea. I bought my tickets for the Blackburn cup match (the less said about that the better!) the first morning they went on sale, and had a very restricted choice of tickets. Although the top corner of the Fratton End is quite a good view, you feel quite 'out of it' in terms of what little atmosphere there might have been for that match. But there were so many empty seats it was ridiculous. I also wondered why, because I thought for cup matches, once they went on gen sale any unclaimed season ticket holders seats went up for grabs too? Or is that not the case? In any case, next time I might try Viagogo, and see what happens.

Tracyc - You are spot on, for cup matches Season Ticket Holders have to claim their seat otherwise it's put on general sale so I don't know why there were seats in 'good positions' that were left empty unless the Season Ticket Holders claimed them but then didn't turn up on the night... but that's unlikely i think

Tracy, I phoned up on the morning of the Blackburn cup game and asked for two tickets, only to be told the game was completely sold out!!! in the morning; the papers told me just over 10000 turned up!!! what the hell is that all about?

that is just stupid! even if season ticket holders werent using their seat by that point they would have been on general sael anyway wouldnt they - so why they said it was sold out baffles me... that was also a game i went to as i was staying in the area at the time, at least you saved yourself abit of money anyway didnt you mate as it was a terrible game - from out point of view anyway!

Sounds like a bit of a cock-up to me. Season Ticket holders had until the week before to claim their seat so there's no way the club (or the ticket office) should have said it was sold out - Hopefully this new system will sort things out because it'll down to the supporters not the club to buy and sell tickets.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
