Varney vs Nugent

After reading the front-page article man of the month I thought I'd ask who people prefer.

Varney or Nugent? And why?

I'd go Varney his pace is on par with Nuge's and they both share similar playing style i.e. get the ball out pace and cut through defenders in a mad sprint and then shoot but both can be quiet at times.

Varney gets my vote because he seems less quiet and idol as Nuge was sometimes and Varney shows a bit more energy. The main reason is Varney's shooting is in my opinion a lot better than Nugent's, Luke can actually shoot decently when most of Davids goals were taps in last season and his shot accuracy was poor in my opinion! And finally I would guess Luke's wage packet is smaller than Harry Redknapp's and most recently Sven's David Nugent!

I did like Nuge though and loved his character and panto towards away fans lol but sorry I much prefer Varney.

I would pick Varney over Nuge any day, Nuge was a bit like an expensive Bradbury, could run all day but with no decent outcome. Lee Varney more shots on target, good as support and as main striker. one on one's my I WOULD NEVER PUT MONEY Nuge csoring but would with Varney

A good mate of mine is a Leicester fan and is very pleased with Nugent. I had warned him about his goal scoring before the season, so he knew what they were getting. I also said that most fans wanted him to stay if we could have sorted out a deal. I've just checked the stats and they've both scored 5 this season so far. It'll be interesting to see the stats at the end of the season. Having said that I'm quite happy with Varney, and I think we got a bit of a bargain. PUP

tbf Nut nugent did score a few belters for us last season - i would say that all-in-all i would go with varney simply because he can score the tap-ins, whereas nuge would miss them...
both work hard, both add something to the team but varney is preferred for me because chances taken to those scores - altho both miss, and varney will miss his fair share, i would say that varney would have a better conversion rate.
varney is MUCH better in the air, seems to win almost everything and best of all he is on less money than nugent so that cannot be bad - varney it is for me!

Varney is much better in my opinion. For one thing he can stay on his feet a lot better, Nuge seemed to lose all sense of balance when well placed in the area.

The problem with stats is that Varney has played most of this season's game wide out, unlike Nuge... So, it speaks volumes. Varney all the way!!!

in the idiots dictionary of sport,,, i looked up " A NUGENT",, it says, tries hard, scores occasionaly but mainly akin to a headless chicken. says it all for me, varney for me
