Chew The Fat With Chix - Sept 1st
It is
'Chew The Fat' time once again!
Last week we again saw a bumper debate unfold with
over 200 comments on various topics thrown back and forth between those that took part and I am sure
tonight will again be no different with lots to discuss throughout the evening.
You all know by now that I'll be live and on line only on
Vital Pompey from approx. 7:30 to seek your views and give my opinion on the hot topics of the week.
I'm happy to chat about
anything Pompey however tenuous, so just toss in the subject you want to discuss and we will take it from there.
But to get you thinking, how about.. Friends - Pompey came in for some
fairly harsh criticism on the message boards last night for participating in (what some called) a
'totally pointless friendly' .
What was your take on the game?
Do you think it worthwhile irrespective of the result or perhaps you think it was a long way to go with half a squad ?
Let me know your thoughts and then I will give you my point of view and
I will wager a virtual tenner that you will soon
see things differently .
Maybe you want to sound off about
'Friendlies'` generally - Whatever you views I want to hear them.
Pompey United - Those in the upper section of
Block B of the Fratton End on Saturday would have no doubt noticed a
'disagreement' unfold out between a long standing season ticket holder and a 'buy-on-the-day' ticket holder, two rows back.
Basically, as
Pompey went a goal behind the 'buy-on-the-day' ticket holder and a few of his mates started to
hurl abuse at the team to such an extent that the ST holder turned around and suggested they
got behind the team rather than stand there and moan.
Needless to say the 'heated exchange' went on for a good 15 minutes and was still going strong (even with stewards involved) long after the final whistle.
Anyway, the point of mentioning this is I want your opinion on this ... Do people have a right to needlessly moan
or should they be 'challenged' as matey was on Saturday?
Do the 'die-hards' have a right to put the 'day-outs' in their place if they are non conducive to the normal 'culture' of the ground.
Again, whatever your view I want to hear from you
United Colours of Pompey - With 'Erik the Viking' and 'Hungary Marco' coming to town this week it got me thinking.
I wonder
how many different nationalities have represented Pompey over the years?
Well tonight is the night we are going to try and find out.
What I want is the
names of players and their respective country that have represented Pompey down the years..
Can we get to
30? or
40 or
maybe even 50 different nationalities by the time we close the debate around 11:00pm
There are just a few ideas for discussion, but as I say every week ...
It's your agenda so anything goes! Those that have taken part in any of the previous editions of
'Chew The Fat' will no doubt testify that a lively discussion is always had by all.
So why not join in with me, 'on the spot' to respond to your thoughts, comments and opinions on the issues of the week, hopefully with a bit of fun, banter, controversy and maybe even one of my many humorous anecdotes or a quiz thrown in for good measure.
Come on
log on @ 7:30 and share your views
only on Vital Pompey Alternatively, if you are unable to join in tonight but want to add to the debate
why not throw in your thoughts right now and I'll respond to them throughout the evening.
Finally, does anybody want to hazard a guess at this week`s former Pompey player in the title picture ?
Gutted I won't be around for the nationality naming, but I'd say you'll comfortably get 40-50. And finally, that picture, is it Kanu?
.. You are of course coreect.. It is Ray Pointer in his Burnley days... Sorry Frippy .. It aint Kanu !
Hopefully we'll cover your points in the forum (open now) .. And as for the nationalities.. I'll keep a running record so you may stil be able to add some in the morning..
