Chew The Fat With Chix - Aug 18th

Chew The Fat With Chix - Aug 18th
It's been nearly a month but I've returned from my Spanish retreat and now two weeks into the new season I am ready to 'Chew The Fat'

As always there is sure to be loads of topics to discuss during this evenings debate and as is the norm I'll be live and on line only on Vital Pompey from approx. 7:30 to seek your views and give my opinion on the hot topics of the week.

I'll chat about anything Pompey however tenuous, so just toss in the subject you want to discuss and we will take it from there.

But to get you thinking, how about..

The New Boys - In some cases we have had three or four games to assess the new boys, so what do you think of them?

Is Reg Varney the player you though he was or has he left his shooting boots in Blackpool? What about Chuck Norris do you think he is the free running, free scoring midfielder we were led to believe? Or what about Jason Pearce, will he be the 'tough-nut' Steve Cotterill told us he would be? Or maybe you have some thoughts on our old mate Benjani or even a view to share on 'Erik the Viking'

Whatever your thoughts on 'the new boys' I want to hear them.

The Form Book - Every team has now played three league games - Have results gone as you expected? Perhaps you expected Leeds, Leicester or Cardiff to perform better. Maybe you expected Derby, Palace or Brighton to struggle - Are clubs just settling into the new season or has the form book already been turned on it's head ?

Will you stick with your initial predictions for promotion or relegation or would you now revise who you think could finish top (or bottom) of the league at the end of the season? Early days I know, but it could make for an interesting debate.

CSI - 'Complete Silence Intended' - Yep the weeks are moving on and we are seeing actions rather than words but does anybody wonder whether the 'new' (ish) owners will ever address the Fratton Faithful - Patience is one thing, actions another but I am still left wondering what their longer term plans are for Pompey - What do you think ? Are you satisfied with the silence or do you now think it is time for something to be said ?

Post your thoughts below

Those are just a few ideas for discussion, but as I say every week ... It's your agenda and anything goes!

Those that have taken part in any of the previous editions of 'Chew The Fat' will no doubt testify that a lively discussion is always had by all.

So why not join in with me, 'on the spot' to respond to your thoughts, comments and opinions on the issues of the week, hopefully with a bit of fun, banter, controversy and maybe even one of my many humorous anecdotes or a quiz thrown in for good measure.

Come on log on @ 7:30 and share your views only on Vital Pompey

Alternatively, if you are unable to join in tonight but want to add to the debate why not throw in your thoughts right now and I'll respond to them throughout the evening.

Finally, does anybody want to hazard a guess at this week`s former Pompey player in the title picture ?

Vital Boxing - Fury Spotted

I recognise him alright Chix, he'd go well with a bit of the Toast on Sunday morning. Good to have you back Chix, I will be tucked up for it tonight, but I look forward to reading all the action tomorrow morning at work.

Not sure why that posted twice. Anyway, a topic has just gone up in the Forum about players chants, and with you being the master I think this should be addressed during tonights session.

Where is the chat I don't understand? Is it a chatroom or just a forum post?

I think it starts at 7.30 Quazie. Don't quite know how it works but it seems to be on both Vital POompey Home and Vital Pomoey forums. I think most people use the forum.

Frippy is right of course particularly on hot .....ed toast. Quazie and others it takes place on both the front page - here and the forum. mostly in the forum tbh as a lot of members are shy and don't like to come into public!!Good to see the Fat is back!

Video - Pompey 1-1 Morecambe

Had Pompey managed to hold onto the lead against Morecambe - who equalised late on in this 1-1 draw - the Blues would have moved above Carlisle into an automatic promotion spot.
