Subs Attack At Will

Subs Attack At Will
Well we are nothing but attack minded. I am not quite sure what we would do if one of the defence was injured during the game, I think change formation. I know "shaggy" (Anderton started as a full back, I saw him play there away at Gillingham) and suspect that Mendes might do a job but hey this is a "VITAL" team not mine, nor any other person whose CV says he is a football manager.

Now is the time to chose who we think would manage our side best, hopefully Rug has put up the poll, so you know the team, you know the chairman (you chose them) now give me your nomination for that top job that will make this superb side fire on all cylinders With the team looking like below.

Goal Keeper James
Defence Primus, de Zeeuw, Blake, Taylor
Midfield Anderton, Diarra, Merson, Prosinecki
Forwards Todorov, Whittingham
With your bench consisting of Knight, Mendes, D'Alessandro, Kanu, Biley and Walsh.

For completeness the result of the poll was (see below)

I will take the six highest % scorers from below as subs

Pedro Mendes 30%
Andres D'Alessandro 13%
Kanu 13%
Alan Biley 11%
Alan Knight 11%
Paul Walsh 7%

Below missed the cut

David Kemp 5%
Steve Stone 5%
Alan McLoughlin 4%
Mick Kennedy 1%
Shaka Hislop 0%
Gavin Maguire %
Kenny Swain 0%
Malcolm Manley 0%

Sorry to see Dave Kemp did not make it onto the bench but with no defensive subs Diarra to full back at Linvoy to centre half would cover that.

Great work Yosser and sad you didn't make the side but it would be good to watch!

Who is going to wear the armband Merson?

Nah, the Merse can swim! . . . . In fact I saw him e-Mersed in the waters off shanklin once, he wondered off the beach to a bar and I said to my self good for you Merse av yerself a beer- oops - should that be - ooppschh- little did I know.

For me captain would have to be de Zeeuw. It will always stay with me how controlled he was after the El Hadji Diouf spit. I would have loved to see "Yosser" in the side he played in every position but goalkeeper I think. I can remember saying to myself when he leaves I will support them instead, of course I never did but it gives an idea of how much I liked him as a player. Another who is not there but in the PFC history is Johnny Larger, the oh so important goals from which perspective he has similarities to Mendes. All that being said who would I swap form the above team to get them in?

    Vital Pre-Match - League 2, 27th September

The 2016-17 season continues with the latest round of matches this midweek, which will see us among those having a match in this upcoming schedule with three-points the aim of course.

    Tranmere loan for Tollitt

Ahead of the weekend win over Barnet, which probably wouldn't have been a game he was involved in anyway, Ben Tollitt was sent out on loan to Tranmere.

All deserve the plaudits for that performance

I think that's a fair assessment from Cook, some played a little better than others but Barnet was a very good team performance from Pompey even if it wasn't 'really' a 5-1 scoreline.
