A bit of a transfer rant
I would have liked to have fitted this on the end of my Transfer Window review but ran out of characters so here goes:
"On a personal note, I honestly believe to say to Pompey fans that we missed out on some solid Championship players or even some exciting big four loanees because we "lost out" on SWP and Konchesky is UTTERLY insulting.
How mindless do they think we are?
It would have been obvious to even the most simple minded that they would never come and it scares me to think that our management team has it's head so far in the clouds to either (a) think it a serious possibility; or (b) think we'd believe it's not just a diversionary story.
Add to that apparently our Manager doesn't trust his own staff's opinions on targets and I'm afraid there's a serious loss of faith and respect in the management of the team and club on my own part."

Yeah but it was only Sky who suggested we went in for SWP, while Konchesky did join another Championship club. And our other supposed targets were Championship players like Norris.

JIm, Lampitt stated quite clearly in he News that they had never targeted SWP, and that he did not know where the story came from. Actually, if you think about it, it sounds too daft to be true.

Gotta to agree with Gandor there as SWP would have cost us a fortune in wages unless Citeh helped us out and makes in very unlikely that we would have even bothered to make an enquiry.

SWP's agent and club have stated categorically that Pompey did not bid or enquire about the man. Perfectly correct to go for Konchesky- what are you moaning about, he went for a club with a chance for promotion, thats it, no more. I agree about the part relating to Cot not trusting his own backroom staff, that smacks of paranoia. So no real need to rant- lol unless it makes you feel better.
