Leeds United Tickets - What's Going On?

Leeds United Tickets - What's Going On?
The Official Pompey website have said:

FESTIVE TICKET UPDATE

Tickets are no longer available for Pompey's npower Championship clash with Leeds at Elland Road on Tuesday, December 28. They will not be available on the day, so please do not travel unless you already have a ticket.

NB - it doesn't say 'sold out'. In fact sold out would be unlikely, we don't usually sell out away games, and we have started to get used to being able to buy tickets on the day in the Championship.

This is one reason I have tried to chill out a bit from my usually rather anal 'must buy tickets as soon as they come available' habit, and given the weather recently, thought it would be a good idea for Gandor, Mr Tracyc & I to wait a bit before we get our tickets for this match.

This was a match I REALLY wanted to go to. The Wednesday has been booked off work for months. This is a big old traditional English football club who I've never been to.

I really haven't had much luck with away matches this season. I wanted to go to Coventry, but MrTracyc had to work that Saturday morning. I wanted to go to Palace, but I couldn't get the time off work for that. I did go to Derby, but with friends who live in Derby and got us tickets in the home section, which was a horrible experience. I wanted to go to the cup match at Brighton, but obviously I haven't been to 3 away games this season, so don't qualify to apply for tickets!

I am so p*d off about this I could cry! I will try and email the club, and see what they say.

Anyone got 3 tickets for Leeds they don't want?

For someone so desperate to go then you should have bought tickest in advance. Do you really think Leeds would sell tickets on the day to away fans, thats asking for trouble with some of the idiots who follow our club, they would be buying tickets for the away end!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you could have bought Millwall tickets on the day fro the clash back in October, so dont understand the logic, if any game should be embargoe' ed on the day it should have been that one.

Well my panic's over because Gandor went to the ticket office and was able to buy the tickets. Which means this notice was rather misleading. But the original ticket information never said anything about tickets being available for a limited time. Any case, I felt better for the rant. And in case you hadnt noticed, our last 2 home games were postponed due to snow, and I had personal experience of the airport problems - thats why I waited to buy the tickets.

It's up to Leeds whether they sell on the day or not and I guess they'd rather not have our money! Even if we're officially not selling them anymore, I bet our ticket office would sell them to you if we've got any left - they're usually very helpful. Anyway I've got my tickets, so just praying it doesn't snow!
