Pompey talk with pompeyhussler

Pompey talk with pompeyhussler
I know it was a miserable season, overall, and reflecting on parts of it will be the last thing you want to do but we had to take one for the team!

So, sum up the 2009/10 season in 3 words?
Crap.

What was your season highlight?
Win over spurs.

12-months ago things were meant to be looking 'a lot brighter' with SAF taking over, we all know this panned out! Charlatans come and gone and we are where we are now. But what are your hopes for our future?
New stadium.

Lets be honest, not much, if anything will come through the Fratton gates player wise this summer. Even so, who, realistically, would you like us to sign this summer? Taking into account we will spend little, or no money, assuming we are not under a continued transfer embargo anyway...
Darren Ambrose ! But think he will go to QPR ... O'Neil maybe a deal can be done as they owe us cash for him and he only has year left on his deal and wont want to stay now.. also few loans as we can loan from premiership now .... must be a few youngsters from Utd Arsenal etc who want a game every week.

Several will go for sure, but who would be the player that you would choose to sell if you could anyway, and why?
Nugent.

And the player that you would love us to keep at Fratton Towers if we could, and why?
Wilson because he could have a big future in the game...

What are you hoping for from Pompey in the 2010/11 season?
Not -17 points stay in the championship maybe make the play offs.

How many Pompey games do you expect to attend?
Many more than last season 38quid a game just too much for me 20 quid next season that's a fair price so 10+ games.

Finally, as it is a world cup summer how do you think England will do?
Semi finals and lose on pens.

that's only 1 work from the 3 to sum up hussler ;-)
wilson is another that i agree with we need to, and hope that we can, keep. i do not want a 17pts penalty next season but 'if' we end up with this it would not make any difference to you going to games tho would it?
the new ground is something that could be good in the future, but i do not think it is the main thing we need to be thinking about - tbh i think we could redevelop fratton, sometime down the line, to that acceptable level that we do not even need to leave it...
thanks for your answers tho mate, nice one.

Good answers Hussler. Must admit I don't think the stadium is the first priority at the moment though.

A man of few words but not too many I could disagree with.

Pompey aim remains the same

Doncaster, Carlisle & Plymouth are the teams to catch. Pompey are further adrift than we would want but the aim to finish top 3 remains the same. That's targeted in the coming weeks.
