ACON And The Winner Is....

ACON And The Winner Is....
EGYPT!

Egypt win the African Cup Of Nations for the third time in a row after a late winner to beat Ghana 1-0 in the African Cup Of Nations Final.

Ghana should have had a penalty in the first half when Hassan looked like to head it away
only for a replay showing he used his left hand to knock it out for a corner. Egypt won it with 5 minutes to go, Mohamed Gedo played a lovely one-two on the edge of the box and the tournament's top scorer took his tally to five with a fantastic curling finish around the keeper.

On Saturday Nigeria beat Belhadj & Yebda's Algeria 1-0 with a goal from striker Obinna to
claim third place in the tournament.

My Player of the tournament was Pompey target and Egypt striker Emad Moteab, he was consistently brilliant in every game. I hope Pompey can get him today or maybe in the summer.

Well Done Egypt!

Yep agreed, the rumours are that the embargo was lifted too late to do the loan deal, lol but then he would probably have expected to be paid and that would have ruined everything anyway! I htloiwc

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.
