ACON After Round 2 of Games



There wasn't as many shocks as there was last week in the African Nations Cup.

Here's the results from Round 2 of games.

Group A:
Mali 0-1 Algeria (With Yebda & Belhadj the only players being booked for Algeria)
Angola 2-0 Malawi

Group B:
Ivory Coast 3-1 Ghana (Which included a header from Chelsea striker Drogba)

Group C:
Nigeria 1-0 Benin (A penalty from Everton striker Yakubu)
Egypt 2-0 Mozambique

Group D:
Gabon 0-0 Tunisia
Cameroon 3-2 Zambia (Which included goals for former Chelsea defender Geremi & Inter striker Eto'o)

So not as good as last weeks games but still a good round of games.

And here's the Groups:

Angola 5pts
Algeria 4pts
Mali 4pts
Malawi 3pts

Group B
Ivory Coast 4pts
Burkina 1pt
Ghana 0pts

Group C
Egypt 6pts
Nigeria 3pts
Benin 1pt
Mozambique 1pt

Group D
Gabon 4pts
Cameroon 3pts
Tunisia 2pts
Zambia 1pt

So far Ivory Coast & Egypt have both qualified.

Monday, 18 January 2010
Angola 0-0 Algeria Gp A
Mali 3-1 Malawi Gp A

Tuesday, 19 January 2010
Burkina Faso v Ghana, Gp B, 16:00

Wednesday, 20 January 2010
Egypt v Benin, Gp C, 16:00
Nigeria v Mozambique, Gp C, 16:00

Thursday, 21 January 2010
Cameroon v Tunisia, Gp D, 16:00
Gabon v Zambia, Gp D, 16:00

Burkina Faso will qualify if they do not lose to Ghana & Ghana will qualify if they defeat Burkina Faso. Nigeria will qualify if they do not lose to Mozambique.

Benin will qualify if they defeat Egypt & Mozambique defeat Nigeria.

Group D is wide open, Gabon will qualify if they do not lose to Zambia. Cameroon will qualify if they defeat Tunisia. Tunisia will qualify if they defeat Cameroon & finally Zambia will qualify if they defeat Gabon.
