Keep Up To Date With The ACON
With me probably stuck in bed all week with what I call 'Man Flu' I have nothing to do but watch TV and go on Vital of course. And this week marks the start of the African Cup of Nations, which is being shown on Eurosport and BBC.

So I've decided to keep you all up to date with the goings on. Also how the Pompey Players and other Prem stars are getting on.

Pompey players that are involved are:

Belhadj & Yebda (Algeria)
Dindane (Ivory Coast)
Kanu (Nigeria)

The ACON started last night with a bang when the hosts Angola against Mali.

Angola were 4-0 up with only 11 minutes left. But Mali fought back to snatch a 4-4 draw, which included a goal from former Premiership star Frederic Kanoute.

The Fixtures for today are:

Group A:
Malawi v Algeria. (Currently on as I write this)

Group B:

Ghana v Togo. Called Off (For reasons I'm sure you all know)

Ivory Coast v Burkina Faso,16:00. (With Chelsea's Didier Drogba & Salomon Kalou playing for the Ivory Coast)

Both Games are Live on Eurosport UK.

On this day in history...26th June

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 26th June.

Done Deal - Smith in permanently from Swindon

The interest Pompey retained in Smith, with him 'in our sights' has resulted in him returning to the Blues on a permanent basis after signing for an 'undisclosed fee' from Swindon.

Cushioning the blow

Much, that needed saying, about Webster's exit for Ipswich and the arrival of Clarke in return (and cash) has been said hasn't it? Doyle's been spot on with what he said.

Swindon striker in 'Pompey's sights'

Michel Smith, who was of course on loan last season, could return? He's still in 'Pompey's sights' by all accounts after Swindon informed him he's 'surplus to requirements' now.
