'If It's Football, It's Vital'

You must now account for your previous statements

Sorry Peter but you must now account for your previous statements.

I don't think I am alone in feeling that no matter what your views or thoughts on Peter Storrie, that the time has now come for Peter to come clean. I actually do think he has tried to do the best for the club, and appreciate his battle to keep us afloat, instead of walking away like Harry.... However things don't add up, and rightly or wrongly, his sincerity is not shared by all?

"Fahim, is going to be our Saviour, he IS a mega rich Arab, who has funds tied up in Property... I expect this to be all done and dusted in 6 months and Pompey will never look back..." Followed 6 moths later with, "Fahim is a joke, a clown, full of Eastern Promise, but has done nothing to back up his Daily Fables, we need to sell out to the Faraj brothers, as they are mega rich and will take us to a level we never dreamt of..." Hmmmmm that's true, but we all thought that was to be UP to a level not dreamt of, not SUNK to a level not dreamt of?

It now appears that Sacha sold to Fahim as he could find no links, leads or assurance Ali Al Faraj even exists? Something we are ALL now also finding Sacha was right to be concerned about... Maybe in hindsight, the fan base, (fuelled by the fans meetings with Storrie and Fahim), sided with Storrie and Faraj wrongly, and ousted the wrong Arab? Fahim now appears to have Money available (as always promised) but is reluctant to put it into a club lacking leadership and owing money to anyone and everyone related to Portsmouth or the Gaydamak family... and who honestly can blame him?

What really bothers me though, is what did Peter Storrie see, to make him believe the Faraj Brothers were mega rich and the better option over Fahim, something that Gaydamak saw through and eventually caused him to sell to Fahim? The fans DONT need to be told everything that happens within the club, as knowing too much only causes problems within the club, the fan base, and fuels further media bull than we already have to endure. However, the fans do deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, and now the time has come for the Directors and CEO to be honest and tell us WHAT IS GOING ON.

Vital Pompey has obtained answers from Storrie in the past, so i would like Vital to try and obtain proper answers once more to these and other questions, before more and more fans turn on Peter Storrie and simply ask for his head on a platter. Maybe Fahim can invoke a clause somewhere to take back his 90%, kick out the Israeli Danny, buy the land off Gaydamak, and push forward with his original plan, shutting all us doubters up?

Maybe Faraj can come clean and prove his wealth and stop all this loan crap, before its too late?

Maybe Storrie can explain why he was fooled?

Maybe its time to step up the fans protest if we don't get answers sooner than later?

I did attend the protest yesterday, and I did see the eyes behind the blinds from the windows overlooking Frogmore Road, but 300 fans was not vocal enough. I propose ALL fans stay in the ground at the end of the next home game, and have a sit in, to send the message home hard that we ALL have had enough.

OK My venting over - over to you for discussion lol Midge!

FOOLS FOOLS FOOLS That is what I think of the people chanting "Where's the money gone?" and "Sack the board" and "Get the Arab W4nk3rs out our club". Where has the money gone? Pretty simple really: It has returned to those parties who loaned it to us to buy those players in the first place. The remainder has gone on interest payments and wages. Simples. Insulting chants aimed at those who stepped in to prop up the club from certain doom? Not very clever in my opinion. If they were to pack up their bags and leave which would seem to satisfy most of the chanters... then who do they propose to step in with 60M? Do they all perhaps have a rich mate just waiting in the wings? Well if so please do ask them to step forward. Also, why does everybody seem to think they have a right to know about the private and internal financial workings of the club and the people investing their money? Well, apart from seeking out the accounts at Companies House which I doubt any of the chanters have bothered with. The fans are not shareholders, creditors or even employees. They pay money to watch FOOTBALL. If you would choose not to do so, if you don't consider the 35 fair for the entertainment provided, please dissapear with all other JCLs. The people chanting sich ludicrous phrases as sack the board do not understand what they are wishing for. All they are doing is passing on their negativity to the players and management. Some fan pressure can be a good thing, but vitriol and ill-advised mass protest is a stupid way to show how some of the best fans in the country respond to adversity. Whatever happened to the spirit of that famous loss to Aresenal where we chanted right through the defeat?

Sorry for triple post... I only pressed submit once!?

Come on Fahim, show us that 50 you were talking about, get the club, kick that invisible man out and then you will be cheered when sitting in the Fratton Sun eating a burger/hot dog in a Pompey shirt instead....
Pompey Malta
Fans have been played by storrie from the start. As I said at the time the the PVA was Storrie's idea to take control of the club and put into practice by his stooge farmery. Even now when his own site can't trust Storrie he still defends him, ignoring or manipulating any facts that don't suit; even the press now don't take Farmery as an independant supporter. You have to give it to Storrie he bad his pet gave fooled most of the fans most of the time. Where's the money gone? Well sasha stripped it to pay off his corrupt dad's fines to the French government but you can't blame him for that; now he is stuck in the Pompey morass and had to lend the money last week or the club collapses and he gets nothing !
russellm
Fahim's 50 Pompey Malta? Even I could stretch to fifty quid if I thought it would save the club :)

Some Fair Questions Midge .. But I'm affraid I'm with Liquor&Poker over the protests and believe it or not (and allthough it was intended) I think it did need saying three times ... and I have been hammering home as much in the Vital forum for weeks ... Sack the Board ! - What then fellas? .. welll .. thought not .. no answer .. think before you chant ... PLEASE - You may be venting your frustration but you DO NOT represent the thoughts and feelings of EVERY pompey supporter
Chix
A stunning article Midge. I remember crying with joy when on that May evening Al Fahim bought the club, or it was said that he will indeed buy the club. But now, we are lost, with no idea of what to do. Is the club going to exist after this year?
Pompey Malta
50 million I meant Tantona! Cheers
Pompey Malta
Agree Chix, i dont agree with the Anti Arab or Sack the Board Chants. But i do agree with some form of protest to hammer home that the fans are pleasding for a change in direction?
Midge
Sacking the Board won't achieve anything other than instant administration. However, I do feel we're reaching a point where something has to give and, at some stage, the football authorities have to wake up to what is going on, not just at Pompey but other clubs that are run by deluded fantasists. At some stage, the people who are culpable for bringing this club to it's knees and, possibly, breaking the laws of the land (in terms of non-payment of tax), should be held to account - whoever and wherever they are now. In any event, sad to say, but I think that any protest genuinely is futile and falls on deaf ears.
ninjatim
Midge, PS has never been held accountable for anything. If he had he would have been sacked ages ago. In a real world business you get held accountable for your actions and results. His performance as a Chief Executive is worse than lamentable. He's done a crap job and the club and the supporters are paying for it. As an insider reported to the press yesterday, we didn't take action on lots of matters related to the tax office for years. A high performing Chief Executive wouldn't have let that happen. We would be better off without a Chief Exec. than an incompetent one like him.
Mike1954
Midge, great article. The only thing I would take issue with is Fahim taking back control. The man's a clown and no bills whatsoever got paid while he was in charge, which just made an already bad situation worse. As for the fans protests, I do believe it's right to make our feelings known, and things are that bad that this is necessary. It says it all that the owners let a player come out and talk to fans, when this was their job. As for sacking the board, I don't believe we'd be any worse off if they did go. We'd be in deep doo-doo without them, sure, but we're in deep doo-doo with them anyway. I deeply suspect their motives for buying the club, and no new investor will come in with the situation as it is, so, much as it pains me to even contemplate it, I wonder whether administration might be the only way out.
