Kiwi in Town!!!
Vital Member name: NZ_Portsmuff.

Where from: New Zealand (Christchurch).

Been a Pompey supporter for most of my life. My personal favourite game: It should be the FA cup win, but its not, it was the 4-1 drubbing we handed Southampton in April 2005.

Fav Pompey player: That's quite a hard choice, we have had some greats....Hmmmmm, I think I would have to pot for Jamo, our defence had never looked as good under any of the previous keepers (despite the calamity tag he does bring with him a lot of confidence for our defenders).

I have been lucky enough to be able to come back to the Motherland for a couple of weeks for Christmas, so get my first chance to go to my church (see a game at Fratton) for the first time in about 5 years, last game was the last of the season against Middlesboghorror when we won 5-1. I think, Yak hit four goals, and I think Teddy S got the other, so it wasn't a bad one to finish on.

Thanks to pompeyrug I have been hooked up with tickets for the two home games whilst I am here which are Liverpool and Arsenal, so didn't quite expect the same sort of result (well not too us anyway), but they should be epic games anyway (and I reckoned we had a chance of taking some points from Liverpool, as we did.)

It would be good to meet a few of the Vital members whilst I am over, put a name to the face as it were. For those that will be there I will look forward to meeting you! Hopefully we can all come away from the Arsenal game in high spirits.

Good to have you over NZ. Hope it's not too grim on Weds but it would take the most optimistic person in the world (on serious quantities of drugs) to forecast much for Pompey from Arsenal game. With any luck there will be some amusing incidents involving Herman or mal-coordinated half time dancers to provide something to raise a smile.

Cheers NZ. It is always nice to hear the voice of others who do not watch matches at Fratton very often. I was hoping to come this season, but I am saving that money for the next one, because if we go down, it won't be very easy to watch any Championship matches on the box from here! So I prefer to come more than once next season.

Away day Blues

We can be brilliant one game and then woeful the next...usually after we've won (usually pretty well) at home but then we lose away, as we did at Blackpool.

Vital View - League 2, 27th September

A lead at was extended by Plymouth with Blackpool recording a surprising win, talking of which Wycombe's five-one win against Crewe was certainly a 'surprising' win.

Match highlights - Blackpool 3-1 Pompey

The mystery that is Pompey and our dodgy away form continued with another defeat suffered at Blackpool, who hadn't won at home since the first game of the season before this 3-1 win.
