Just a thought on Kalinic...

Just a thought on Kalinic...
I'm sure many people were gutted when they heard the news that one of the most promising signings we were going to make in a long time, apparently slipped from our grasp?

Well, apparently the deal could still be on...

Here's my call...

He flew into England to have negotiations right? Then flew out the country to have 'talks' with Porto... which are based where... Portugal! Where did the entire Pompey squad go the next day? Oh yeah... Portugal!

Now I'm not saying he's training with the squad or anything like that, but with the manager being over there, and the team, maybe he is getting a real inside look into the teams goings on, while having chats with Hart and the boys?

Just an idea.

I am afraid you are wrong. If you research a bit more, you will see that Kalinic never went from Pompey to Porto.. He went to Blackburn and they made him welcome there and made an offer acceptable to both Kalinic and his agent.. So he NEVER went to Porto.. Quite what will happn no-one knows, but Pompey just have to match or better Blackburn's offer for sure to have any chance

Reckon you could be right there Rug, must admit I thought much the same. Not sure what to make of the Blackburn already signed him story. As an aside, just picked up 'Match' mag for my lad and they reckon they have heard a rumour that SAF wants to sign Ronaldinho and could be offered £250k a week. God knows where they got that from, but maybe, just maybe.

Is a nice thought and I was thinking along very simular lines. If what we read is true it looks like it is up to Kalinic. He can either come to us andf play along side Niko or do what his agent wants and sign for Blackburn. Shame that money and agents seem to dominate deals, if you took them out I bet Kalinic would have signed by now. My fingers remain crossed :I) PUP

not my thoughts guys - as im always willing to publish ideas that are suggested, have done the same with the above...

as for what i think - god knows what i think about this now...i thought we would never sign him then really thought we would, then it seemed like it was a no go without a doubt? i still hold out hope, but im not sure what to make of the blackburn offer - not sure its as 'signed and sealed' as some reports say and do still feel he wants/wanted to come here but not sure we can meet split's demands?
what i do know is, no matter what his ability turned out to be in the long term, an arrival like him would really lift spirts - and that is what we need right now!

like i say, not my thoughts and i do not know, but to say that kalinic 'never' went to porto but did go to blackburn 'might' again not be true PompeyExile? we only 'know' that kalinic went to blackburn because his agent said he went to blackburn, we only 'knew' that porto wanted him because his agent said so - we should know by now that what agents say and what happens are almost always different things...who knows what is really hapenning/will happen?

i think, for some reason on an article suggested by a member that is published in the 'vital pompey members corner' that if you refresh the page rather than leaving it and coming back this double posts for some reason? no sure why tho...

They've never been in Portugal, they have gone straight to Blackburn on Tuesday when people at Portsmouth told them they have to wait till Friday for negotiations cause of their money situation, obviously that didn't sat to well with Kalinic's agent Erceg, actually it didn't sat well at all because he confirmed yesterday (Friday) at evening that Kalinic signed for Rovers an that only thing keeping them from officially announcing it is the players work permit which should be acquired soon.

Hartlepool (a) - Safety first!

A win at Wimbledon made sure of a play-offs place. Technically we can finish in the top 3 but this would require an unlikely set of results from too many clubs wouldn't it?
