To find out exactly how the quiz works click here , but in summary, remember:

A. Not all questions carry the same points value

B. You can gain extra points by testing Chix and Dave's knowledge.

C. A 'mystery prize' will be awarded to the person with the most points.

D. There are four parts to the Quiz. 25 questions will be issued each week

E. You can submit your answers a section at a time or all at once, anytime before the closing date of Midnight on 1st August 2009

M@ You can use whatever you can get your hands on, fair means or foul.. Clever searches using Google will unearth a fair few I'm certain, but some I'm sure you won't find on the net... anywhere !! Bear in mind though when Dave & I research stuff for our various projects we are constantly surprised how often google and (in particular) Wiki is wrong so check and double check... Good Luck!

Fantastic Quiz, and seen as nobody has asked any questions yet, I'll have a pop, and I'll do it in a Chixy kind of way. Who am I? 1. I am a midfielder. 2. I am from the continent of Europe. 3. I have played for Pompey in the Premier League. 4. I have also played in Scotland. 5. I have only ever scored twice for the club. 6. I am now retired. 7. I played over 75 games for my country, but was left out of the World Cup squad. I'm not sure if I made that too easy or too hard, but I guess if you want a few extra questions of your own choosing (say 3), I will oblige.

I think if I'm not mistaken it can only really be Eyal Berkovic ... but I wondering if Israel is in Europe.. but hey they take part in the Eurovision Song Contest (so I'm told) so that's good enough for me .... The only other thing that is worrying me is that Eyal scored three goals for Pompey .. Did you forget the one in the League Cup against Leeds ?... I wait to see what Dave reckons before we say Final Answer but I reckon this is ya man.

Can't disagree Chix. He was left out of the Israel squad by none other than Avram Grant. The only interesting point is is Israel in mainland Europe?

Well I've spoken to my local Rabbi and asked him if Israel is in Europe and he said "No. It's in the Middle East... however, in a few aspects it is considered as if it was part of Europe, like in sports" Well I reckon that's good enough for me so Frippy Were gonna say Final Answer: Eyal Berkovic Are we correct?

Gino I think we are allowed the same resources as you guys don't you? Afterall we are setting ourselves up to answer every question and you can't expect everything to be in our heads!. That said (and I'm sure Frippy will back this up) the speed at which I initally answered the Berkovic question (five minutes) probably indicates that I didn't look it up - Where would I have started ?.. Must admit I needed Daves clarification and the use of The Rabbi though! Anyway.. let's not be picky we got it right so its Chix & Dave 1, The rest of Vital 0 (lol).

Now on to your question Gino I must admit I'm a bit stumped when it comes to understanding the question .. as if there is no order to the numbers then the blanks can appear anywhere (is that right?) and it also presumes that there are only five numbers in total rather than it being a sequence (Is that right also ?) That might very well be the case but I think we need some clarification (not clues.. mind) before we think any further..

That's right Chix the blanks can go anywhere.... it's 5 numbers essentially that are all connected in some way. If you find the meaning of the numbers on show, then the other two numbers should be a doddle. I'm pretty sure that's given the blasted answer away!!!!

Tracyc In a similar context to what I said to Gino above - You can use whatever means necessary to answer them. 'Most' can be found on t'internet if you look hard enough and don't forget, this set of questions is the first of four so you have approx a month to answer before the closing date (should you need it).

Right I'm back.. and yep I am right. The missing numbers are 25 & 32 and together they represent the 2008/9 squad numbers of the five players who were not offered new contracts when their existing one expired on 30th June.. Get in !2-0 up !.. Strange thing was that I keep looking at 11 and thinking Sulley Muntari and then went along the lines of the last five players we sold it was only when I realised that Noe had been 16 for a couple of years that I clicked to Lauren then of course Jerome Thomas.. As you said once they were solved the others were easy.. Good question though .. I liked that one.

I'm going to seriously get my thinking cap on because I reckon the only way to catch you two out will be puzzle-style questions like that! As long as there is clarity in the question Gino I'm sure we will be up for it .. but do you know the hardest question I have ever faced on PFC.. Pompey4me once asked if we had ever had a player called Simon... I had virtually every book, every website, every journal I possess out and was (eventually) confident enough to answer ... Dave has had some crackers to answer too only last week (when referring to these challenges) I joked that somebody might ask us "How many first half goals have been scored in the Fratton End goal on wet Mondays since the war !" - Do ya know what he could answer it !!

Right who wants to try their luck at Ten Bonus Points More often than not what appear to be the easiest questions to ask are sometimes the most difficult to answer.

ohh.. now that's quite a difficult one Sneakay so I will await Dave's help (for clarity). I do know what shade of boots he was wearing but it's how best to describe them.. my (not final) answer (and this isn't wriggling out of being specific) is that they were a dark bluey, greyie, purpley colour for the Wigan match.. Now... You may claim they were either of those colours and I couldn't really argue .. But it might be easier to tell you that they weren't a bright red or a bright blue or yellow or gold or orange or green to be honest Sneaks to me they were pretty non-descript .. although they were not balck!.. but as I said I'll wait for Mr EastneyDave to see what he thinks.. unless of course you are gonna let me have dark bluey, greyie, purpley ....

Chix and Dave, Chix and Dave, Chix and Dave. I reckon this one will have you squirming: What unique fact do John Utaka, Papa Bouba Diop, Angelos Basinas, Nadir Belhadj and N*****wo Kanu all share? Thinking caps on guys! I know it's another puzzle-style one but as I said before it'll be the only way to catch you out. If you want a clue, then so be it, but I reckon it'll cost you 5 bonus points!!

Gino Right .. I've spent half an hour thinking and I've drawn blanks whichever avenue I've gone down .. I don't want a clue but I do want some clarity/confirmation of the question.. Unique to me means that it is just those five players that share the same fact.. i.e. nobody else before or after in a Pompey shirt can lay claim to the same fact... Right? .. I'm expecting a 'yes' here Gino .. and if you say 'yes' it means I am stumped (for the time being) and might even have to sleep on it .. but you do have me annoyed .. Chix - I'll define unique as they are unique at the current time, not taking into account any past players. But yes, in the current squad it is just those five players that share that fact.

To be clearer - they are unique only within the current Pompey squad - past players have definately fallen within these limits before, however at the CURRENT TIME, these five players are the only members of the CURRENT squad to share this 'fact'.

Now we come onto Sneakay Umm well Sneaks you have a picture and so do I and I've also watched the highlights of the Wigan game and freeze framed a couple of times... IMO there's no way they are a 'light' colour . the predominate shade is 'dark' .. from the picture I've seen anyway... This is gonna be a hard one to prove unless you have a manufacturers description (only joking!) .. tell you what send me the picture you have (use the link above) .. I have an idea..

Thanks for sending the photo through Sneakay but (and I serious) whch one is Utaka .. I can't even identify him let alone the colour of his boots... At the moment my evidence which I will share with you (unless you have something else) is far more conclusive and I have have both checked by somebody who knows nothing and although it was hard for them to agree that either description was actually correct .. when pushed the answer contained the words.. Dark & Purple.. You tell me which player in your picture is Utaka ... is he to the right of Crouchy ?

I spent a good hour yesterday with Ginos question on a sticky in front of me only to later realise that Hughes and Diarra where part of Frippy's question !!..
