Chix & Dave's Pompey Quiz Challenge

Following on from our very successful 'In it to win it' series which saw us give away prizes such as match tickets, DVD's, and even the odd car sticker or two, here is your chance to get your hands on a 'mystery prize' from the Vital Pompey store cupboard.

Over the next few weeks, starting tomorrow evening we will be publishing a series of quizzes (four in fact), that will test your knowledge of all things Pompey.

Questions will range from past to present, from players to managers, from transfers out to transfers in, from Southern League games to FA Cup ties in fact we believe the entire spectrum of Portsmouth FC will be touched on at some stage.

Some answers will come straight off the top of your head, some may need thinking about or looking up on Wiki or Google, some may even prompt you to ring you Grandparents in New Zealand and some you will just drive you mad with frustration because the answer will be right on the tip of your tongue.

But here is the twist. Not all answers carry the same number of points if answered correctly. A three part answer may only be worth one point if totally correct, whereas a difficult one part answer may carry a total of two, three or even four points.

A further twist is that we are not going to publish the points available for each question, so you will have no idea of how well you have done until the answers are published.

The beauty of this quiz is that we believe nobody will get every question right, in fact Chix feels that if you can answer over half he would be very surprised if you are not well on the way to claiming that 'mystery prize'

So how do you enter:

Simply send each set of answers to the Vital Pompey Office by clicking on the Submit Answers Here link

When received, we will mark them, calculate your score and add it to your totals from the other three quizzes.

Quite simply, the person with the most points wins.

But there is another twist…

You can gain extra points by turning the tables and testing Chix and EastneyDave's knowledge of all things Pompey.

To do this simply type your question in the comments section below each quiz and if Chix or Dave fail to answer it correctly a massive 10 extra points will be added to your score. Better still, you can ask them as many questions as you like. The only conditions being that you must wait for your first question to be answered before submitting another question and you must be able to provide a reliable source to your answer should Chix and Dave not know it and need to ask you for the answer.

Finally, we should mention that the winner will be announced on or after the 2nd August 2009 and in the highly unlikely event that the competition is a tie, the winner will be the person with the highest points total on the Vital Pompey Members League Table at the end of July.
