Knowing me knowing you - Buddha1974

1 - Vital Pompey username?
Buddha1974.

2 - Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
Originally brought up in Ash, near Aldershot, but now live in Kingston.

3 - How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Been observing the webpage for 2 seasons now but only became a member this week. (Written late March 2008)

4 - What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
I think it's excellent, so many good features and it's great to hear so many thoughts of other Pompey fans.

5 - How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
Did a search on Google for other Pompey webpages.

6 - When did you first watch Pompey live - not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
I believe it was back in the 1988-89 season where I watched Pompey take on Palace. From memory I think we won, seems an awful long time ago now.

7 - How often do you get to watch Pompey?
Not much, only midweek, Sundays or bank holidays as I play football every Saturday.

8 - Who is your favourite Pompey Player - current and/or former?
Currently it has to be David James, formerly it was the legend Alan Knight. Being a goalkeeper myself I was always interested in who Pompey had between the sticks.

9 - What is you favourite Pompey moment?
Well apart from seeing Darren Anderton score (for what I and thousands also thought would be the winning goal) against Liverpool in the FA cup semi final, it has to be our 4-1 thumping against that team down the M27.

10 - What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
We're never ever going to break into the top 4, so my views are that as long as we have a good investor we'll remain in our own little league playing for that position between 5th and 10th. What would help would be a brand new stadium which all talk has again gone extremely quiet.

PLAY UP POMPEY!

good to hear from you B74. Rug, is that the best pic you can do. That's our Div 1 clash from 1988 at FP. We lost 2-0. I was there. No pics of the 92 semi?
storagematt
yep, thanks for sharing your thoughts Buddha1974 - good to get to know alittle more about you, sorry for the delay in adding this...

matt, re: the image - these are just one of a number of things that go on behind the scenes that are not seen or known about and are alot harder to sort than people might think... they take time to sort and then get into the images we can use, its not a simple operations - that is not to say its the words hardest job, but things like this take more time and effort than people might think...
also were made to follow strict copyright laws so can often be limited to what we can and cannot use..
pompeyrug
Sorry rug, no harm meant mate, just thought you got the pic wrong by accident.
storagematt
sorry, abit snappy at the moment, tired i think...
the image doesn't look so good here, but when smaller - on the list with the other articles its better - and shows more of alan knight, which i was going for rather than using jamo again :-)

First game Palace at home 1988 - drew 1-1 according to my records/memory Warren Aspinall scored a penalty. We did not play Palace again for another five years. Good stuff Buddha.
eastneydave
Nice to meet ya Budda74 ... intriguing name ...
Chix
Buddha - we don't want to hear any more about the new stadium at this stage - I would like to think that they are finalising the drawings ready to present to the Planning Department (who are waiting to rubber stamp it through). Owzat for realistic Chix?
