Knowing me knowing you - Bennyboy

Knowing me knowing you - Bennyboy
1 - Vital Pompey username?
Bennyboy, from my printed shirt Bennyboy 7.

2 - Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
I come from Chichester and currently live in High Wycombe (wife's in the military.)

3 - How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
I've been lurking for about a year now reading posts and enjoying the banter. (Written late March 2008)

4 - What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
Brilliant i think it's the best Pompey site there is, I find out more than on the official site here.

5 - How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
I was searching when i was working overseas, and just happened upon the site.

6 - When did you first watch Pompey live - not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
I can't remember the year I was 16 and it was a game against Port Vale, we won 4-1 and I was hooked ever since.

7 - How often do you get to watch Pompey?
As often as i can, since 2000 I hardly missed a game home or away, but since end of 2005 I have caught as many as I could, because i was working overseas.

8 - Who is your favourite Pompey Player - current and/or former?
Being a (rubbish) goalie (like Chalkias) it's the best goalie there is David James. Former was Alan Knight and Lua Lua.

9 - What is you favourite Pompey moment?
Mmmmm??? Many different ones!

Promotion season was the biggest for me but also these other gems I have had, getting filmed picking my nose by SKY was a laugh.

THAT game against The Scu****s.

The other game against West Brom what a weird day that was, a Baggie kissed me as i was leaving the Hawthorns!!!!!!

Watching Pompey v Chelski in Moscow and being the lone Pompey fan singing and abusing Chelski's.

And meeting Jamo and some of the other boys before Middlesbrough game last season (he let me hold his gloves!!! Sad I know but I'm a goalie we are weird.)

10 - What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
I think we can build to be challenging the 'Big Four' at the top... it happened for Chelski!!!

Its great to be part of Vital Pompey and I hope to meet as many of you as I can soon, some of you may have seen me before at games I made a banner for the Hawthorns that said "Enjoy Coca Cola Harry, you and Jim deserve it." And I take a RAF ensign to games with a Pompey badge and rifle sight through a Sc** shirt saying "Blue Army, Targeting Scu****s"

See I'm a loony!

Nice one Bennyboy and if you're a looney you're definately in the right place as I reckon I'm the only sane one around 'ere ! Agree with you about Vital Pompey it is the best Pompey site by a mile and although we don't always see eye to eys on things the banter stays light and generally good natured. You touched Jamos gloves... WOW ! (lol)

I told my hubby to give Jamo his cap (when Jamo had problems with his earlier this season) but he wouldn't! (Never spoke to him for at least 10 minutes). I don't think that is sad at all Benny.

nothing is sad as far as im concerned if it means something else to someone else. it might not be to your cup of tea but claiming someone is sad because the take pleasure from something you might not, or something you dont particularly like is the route of so many things wrong with the world today - each to their own i say! that said had i held jamo's gloves i would have been delighted... i got to shake pedro mendes' hand the other day and call him a legend, my sister-in-law to be got a photo taken with him, all that meant the world to me - people might think thats sad, i dont!
21/07/2008 08:36:00
Shook Don Revie's hand (when he was England manager) once and didn't wash if for a week .. (I was 7 or 8 at the time) ... Meet Jimmy Dicko a year later and my mum wouldn't let me wash my hand for a week (lol) ... Not Sad... just memories ... As with Jamos gloves and Pedro's picture...
21/07/2008 09:16:00
I think getting to hold Jamo's gloves is quite cool. It's better than getting to hold Judge Jules' (Radio 1 DJ) KFC whilst taking a photo of him for a mate! lol

Another Fratton disappointment

That 2nd half on Saturday against Notts County was woeful - absolutely awful wasn't it. The first 15-minutes or so of it was like a pre-season friendly to pre-season!
