Knowing me knowing you - tommo3146
1 - Vital Pompey username?

2 - Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
I was born in Hameln, Germany as my Old man was serving oversea's in the Forces. Now I currently live in Gosport, Hampshire.

3 - How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Not sure now 1yr to 2yrs. (Written late March 2008)

4 - What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
I think its a very good website that's always updated with the latest news. I think the members are easy going and friendly and is a great place to air your views with people who share the same interests and passion for their football club that you do.

5 - How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
A while back I was trying to put together a list of Pompey websites onto my favourite's list so I could check on a daily basis and luckily stumbled across vital Pompey through Google I think it was.

6 - When did you first watch Pompey live - not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
Core blimey, I think it was back in the early 1990's and I think it may have been against Bristol Rovers with my Grandad. Being a forces kid over in Germany I didn't really have the opportunity to watch Pompey very much, it was only when I came back to blighty to visit my Grandad that he used to take me....and I loved it !!! I remember that I had to pick up a copy of the news every time Pompey played so I could take it back to Germany.

7 - How often do you get to watch Pompey?
I am lucky enough to have a season ticket and have had one since day 1 of Pompey's glorious campaign in the Premier League so I go to every home and watch Pompey on TV whenever they are away and its on. Unfortunately with the rising costs of football and travel and finding babysitters I am unable to get to away games but this is something I am looking to change from next season.

8 - Who is your favourite Pompey Player - current and/or former?
To be honest with Pompey moving up in the world with all their talent it's hard to single out a favourite player therefore any player who wears the blue shirt of Portsmouth is a favourite player.

9 - What is you favourite Pompey moment?
There are a few great moments and I think the one that stands out the most would have to be Pompey winning the Division One Title and then being on Southsea common amongst the sea of Pompey fans as the players and trophy jump up on stage for a bit of a party.

I have to say Pompey winning the Asia trophy & winning against Wigan during the great escape was also right up there for me even then the emotions ran high that day.

10 - What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
I think it will take a few years before Pompey can break into the top four, as great as Pompey are I think sometimes they travel away and tend to defend and put themselves under far too much pressure and I think as long as they continue to play that way they will do well but not as well as they can.

Pompey are getting stronger every season and with the new stadium and training ground apparently just around the corner there are only better things to come and as a true emotional Pompey I like many would like to see them top of the tree some day.

Hi Tommo. Great to hear from you. When watching Sol lift the Asia cup, we thought fantastic but to see him lift FA Cup some 9 months later, out of this world.
