Knowing me knowing you - pompeywebb
1 - Vital Pompey username?
pompeywebb.

2 - Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
Born in Portsmouth, dragged up in Ipswich, in my final year at University of Canterbury.

3 - How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Only a few weeks :( (long time reader though!) (Written late March 2008)

4 - What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
Good articles and thoroughly nice people compared to other football forums.

5 - How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
Newsnow.

6 - When did you first watch Pompey live - not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
Saturday 4th March 2001 at Portman Road (1-0 victory, I was in the Town fans stand with my godfather. He was not happy...)

7 - How often do you get to watch Pompey?
Don't go to many games because I'm a poor student. All set to change when I graduate!

8 - Who is your favourite Pompey Player - current and/or former?
Former is probably Prosinecki (from my era) and current is Johnson.

9 - What is you favourite Pompey moment?
Tough one. In terms of seeing them live, got to be the 3-0 defeat to Ipswich the game after we beat Burnley to win promotion. It was a magnificent atmosphere. One massive party! Listening to the Wigan away match at the end of the 05/06 season was quite special as well!

10 - What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
I think we can make UEFA cup either through the cup this year or league next year. It's impossible to predict how we will cope with it though. By nice if we could beat at least one of the big four at home next year and draw two of the away fixtures with them. Oh, and we need a 5-0 victory at Birmingham just to heal the wounds I got from that awful day in 2006.

PLAY UP POMPEY!

Good answers Pompeywebb. I was at that Ipswich game when we lost 3-0, and sitting in with the Tractor boys. They could not understand how I could be so happy about loosing!

Hi PW. My brother went to UEA & settled up the road in Norwich. We both went to that Ipswich game. The 1-0 win in 2001 was that when we were at the bottom of Div 1 & Ipswich were near the top. Claridge scored & we defended for our lives. I was working & heard the game on the radio & remember screaming when the whistle went.

Yeah, it was that match. Certainly nail biting from what I remember. Wasn't a bad game to be my first :D. We have had plenty of great 1-0 victories over the years, including 5 in last years FA Cup! And of course 1-0 against Burnley all those years ago! I have now finished my degree, and graduated last Tuesday. Don't start my job until October so i will miss most of this season, although I will be living in south London which will make the travelling to Fratton a lot easier. Hope you are all well!

Nice one PW and conrats on that degree.... why not get a Vital Pompey t-shirt with 'Graduated 2.1' on the back (or was it 1st, 2.2 or a 3rd)... You'll be the pride of South London wearing that ... Remember if you can't get to the games .. the best place for the action and the chat is Vital Pompey

The Pompey Predictions League is part of this site now isn't it. Would it be the same without it? This continued with the defeat at Blackpool and will continue against Doncaster.

Vital Pre-Match - League 2, 1st October

The 2016-17 season continues with the latest round of matches this weekend, which will see us among those having a match in this upcoming schedule with three-points the aim of course.

Tollitt still has a Pompey chance

Well, according to Cook. He's insisting Tollitt, the former Everton academy player who had returned to Merseyside to join Tranmere on loan, can still return to Pompey.

Pompey win and lose collectively

As such Cook doesn't want the fans to start turning on individual players, which has been the case with Bennett with Smith not exactly viewed as a 'fans' favourite' either.
