Knowing me knowing you - ChrisW

1 - Vital Pompey username?
ChrisW, Christopher Wells - for some reason I have avoided nom de plumes ever since the Internet spread its wings 12-15 years back - blame it on lack of imagination.

2 - Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
Proud to be born in Botley Drive, Leigh Park in 59 - it made me one tough, proud S.O.B.

Currently live in a small village between Reading and Wokingham via North and East Africa, Mid and Far East, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, USA.

3 - How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
About 3 months. (Written in mid February 2008.)

4 - What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
Vital Pompey is full of my soul mates - good, hard working Pompey fans and I have yet to see one cross word directed at anybody - which is a real skill on behalf of you all.

5 - How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
Every day I search Google News using the following - "pompey location:uk", Rug's words are always there and attracted me like a boat to the Lorelei Rock.

6 - When did you first watch Pompey live - not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
Fratton End around 70 to 71.

7 - How often do you get to watch Pompey?
I share 2 season tickets with my family, so typically I get to 1 in 2 home games plus the occasional away match. I record every match on Sky and god help my kids if they speak when I watch the recording [typically 2-3 times]

8 - Who is your favourite Pompey Player - current and/or former?
Can I have 3? Benjani, Muntari and Jamo - Merson was cool too and Lua Lua when he wasn't being a kid.

9 - What is you favourite Pompey moment?
Winning the Championship, I followed it whilst living in New York, which was great - waking at 9 and having breakfast just in time for the 10am (3pm) kickoff.

10 - What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
I believe all of the top 20 or 30 teams will end up in the hands of the super rich - I only hope that the true fans, whatever the team, don't get left by the wayside...

'I only hope that the true fans, whatever the team, don't get left by the wayside...' Well said Chris, let's hope the clubs realise that fans are the true lifeblood of the game and do all they can to keep the game affordable.....
