£££Wembley???

£££Wembley???
The winners of the final get £1 million. Not much more really. Firstly there is not much difference in the prize money from semi to final winners and secondly, you get nothing!!! Sweet FA.

I know the final is all about prestige & we would happily give the money to Cardiff if it meant we won the cup but no second prize money!

How much is Wembley making out of the final? Approx £20 million!!! The suggestions are gate receipts alone will be £4-5 million. Add on worldwide TV rights, food, programme sales & even the £1 million looks small.

Ok. I'll reply to my own article. You get £1m for winning & nothing for being runner up. Disgusting abuse of funds from Wembley.

Wembley always was going to be the biggest rip-off in history in every respect so it's no surprise to read those figures.

Matt, correct me if i'm wrong, but I think you are saying that the runner up, although paid no money in the final gets £900,000 courtesy of winning the Semi. So, both teams go into the final knowing they will get at least £900,000 for coming runner up, whilst the team that goes on to win, supposedly, already has their £900,000 and then gets a further £1million. That's quite a difference between 1st and runner up isnt it?

awful. honestly, as favourites, we could be in a position saying "the winner takes it all, the loser standing small", but in all honesty, the rnners up still actually have to pay to take part in the cup, with players wages, and administration. two teams make a final, not just one!

yes, but the runners up still get £900,000. They also got gate reciepts etc as part of their cup run, so I think they will have made more than they lost.

My understanding is that you money each time you win a round. So in the 3rd round you get a few quid & so on. Win the semi & each team gets £900,000. But the monies generated by the final should generate more for the winners & certainly something for the losers or not?

I reported this in my forum "Another reason to win the Cup". That was a few weeks ago. Most of the replies said I was wrong. It's old news.

Bloody hell, if this is true they'll have the stadium paid for in no time! I didn't like the extremely unstealthy way that prices of everything almost doubled between the semi and the final either....a diabolical liberty.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
