The Ghost of Quashie

The Ghost of Quashie
From setanta sports - link - the top 3 players this season with the most attempts on goal but yet to score.

Player - Team - Total Shots Attempted
Diop - Portsmouth - 33
Pedersen - Blackburn Rovers - 32
O'Neil - Middlesbrough - 27

No real surprise Diop is there as is the player he replaced, Gary O'Neil.

i thought things were bad for quashie - i mean papa smurf but not that bad... just imagine if o'neil and papa had played in the same team! i think most of us would have torn our hair out by now... seing pedersen in at no.2 surprised me tbh.

'Ghost' written by me. Yes I know when HR said he replaced GON with Diop, I didn't realise it was for his ability to misfire in front of goal!!!

don't you think it's more endemic of the team they play for rather than the players concerned? I'd argue that Diop and O'Neil both filled a striking vacuum at Pompey hence the attempts, so too GON at Boro - Pedersen now that is a surprise, I would have liked to see him play for us.... but not till we sell Diop eh?

Totally unrelated but JB from MCFC V here. To answer pompey4me's question re the chant for Benjani, it was bellowed out when he was subbed towards the end of the Derby, same as your "Benjani Wo-oh" chant but with the added line "He signed on Deadline Day, He scored on Derby day!" Great start for the lad who had already endeared himself to City fans with his polite interviews before taking up that great positioning for Petrov's cross. Best lone striker performance for City this season. Terrific work rate. Sven's not daft.

jbaker, I thought I'd heard something to that effect. He has great energy and has scored some crackers in the past...
