Villa 1 - Pompey 3

Villa Park

Pompey hit 7th heaven

Pompey acheived their 7th away win on the bounce, another classic away performance has left Villa screaming blue murder in much the same way as Newcastle did. Pompeys 4-5-1 formation is tailor made for the counter attack, we've set out our stall, its up to the others to stop us.

I thought the Villa fans were over confident, everyone keeps on that we are punching above our weight, another team has found to their cost that we are actually quite good at this!
I look foward to the rematch.
well done lads, nice win! good luck for the rest of the season, thought Jonno was superb!
Doubt Rug will be up to writing for a while. Celebrating all the way back down the M6/M5 i would think. We are still not getting the credit we deserve it is always Villa missed this and that not Pompey's great goals and play. MOTD tonight I suppose we will get 4 minutes near the end despite the fact we are 5th level with Liverpool. What will it take?
ah, tahts wat I thought dave, but we are on first!!! Yes, first! check on the bbc
What a result, I had to peel myself off the ceiling twice with those great goals bu Muntari. Do we have another jinx to break at Anfield?
2nd game on tonight werent we and i think we got pretty good credit didnt we? i saw myself on motd too, i was literally behind o'neill - as we know i had to make the sacrifice of being in the villa end...
johnson was fantastic today wasnt he - and he can now defend too!
seeing as its probably the last chance i will get to say this...but arsnals record of 8 away wins in a row? aftr liverpool, we have got reading and sunderland (and ipswich) - surely we couldnt go for the record???
anyway, perfect example f how to win away from home. Villa came out, expecting to dominate, but we got everything in midfield, GJ gave Ashley young nothing, and quite literally, our midfield dominated everyhing (unill that stupid penalty...)
i will not be expecting us to win at anfield but i think we have a better chance of winning their than i thought we did at villa park yesterday... if we beat liverpool then the record could and probably should be ours - people will take notice then!
Now wou;dn't that be one in the eye for Mr Wengar... thought the boys were fantastic today apart fro a spell where we gave then two free headers the defence just seem to mop up everything... I really didnt think we'd get anything from this game and would have been over the moon with a point.. but to come away with all three and to win so convincingly is just amazing.. Long may it continue
