Pompey progress on

Pompey took another step in the right direction last night, an early lead became a deficit, but the fledgling squad bounced back to equalise late on with a goal from debutant Obita.

Making his debut was Liam Walker, he was to play a big part in the game and looks to be a real find.

Pompey rode an early flourish to exert some pressure themselves, Liam Walker making the step up look easy, passing the ball well and making incisive runs.
Inevitably the goal came from his influence, his pass into the box was slotted home by Luke Rodgers, the goal a reflection of Pompey's confidence.

Williamson limped out early on with a hamstring injury, hopefully a tweak rather than a tear.

It seemed Pompey were going to take a half time lead, but a goal out of the blue ended that, Michael Rose belted in a screamer that he will probably never repeat, Andersen could only watch and admire.

The second half saw Pompey again push for the lead, McLeod perhaps should of done better when positioned well, Walker smashespd a post and then Rodgers looked to have been dragged down for a pen, the ref though waved it away.

McLeod missed another good chance heading wide, this seemed to be really costly moments later when Pompey Okuonage ran unmarked into the box to head home another Wordsworth dead ball set piece, Pompey seemed to have been undone by their wastefulness in front of goal.

But this new Pompey outfit were having none of it, Dumbuya skipped down the right, leaving defenders in his wake, his centre found Rodgers who again hit the post, this time though, newly introduced sub Obita was on hand to poke home, Pompey got the goal they deserved.

Star Player

Liam Walker has a Roy of the rovers couple of months, all capped off with last nights display.

If PST takes over then the fans will end up paying the creditors, its not the fans fault the club got in debt, it was the foreign owners. Let the club be liquidated and start from scratch as a true PEOPLES club run as a co-operative by the fans, which is how a lot of big clubs in spain are set up. pompey could merge with havant and start of in the lower leagues and in a few years we would be in league 2, bringing socialist revolution to the heart of the capitalists' haven that modern english football has become.
