Pompey finish pre-season on high

Pompey ended the season preliminaries with another win, this time AFC Wimbledon were the victims, we have come a long way since the early warm up chaos, the team of trialists, youth team and early pros has gelled a fair bit, we just need some progress off the pitch to see us survive and then put pens on paper.

Pompey carried on where they left off on saturday, some crisp football gave leave to an early goal, Luke Rogers making the most of some defensive waywardness to net easily, the journeyman was playing with Thierry Henry last season, he obviously has had a glowing report about us fans!

Liam Walker was next up, the Gibraltar boy with Pompey blood curled home beautifully after first McLeod and then Liam Lawrence combined to set him up.

The rest of the half belonged to Pompey once more, possesion was the game, and it was pulled off easily.

The second half was more of a contest, Eastwood pulling off a couple of decent stops in goal, but after the early siege, Pompey again took control.

2-0 it was, the trialists have shown what they can do, the rest is up to the faceless men in suits, keep all fingers crossed!!

Star Player

Liam Walker, I reckon he has a contract waiting if we survive
