Pompey 2 - Palace 1

Fratton

17/4/12

Attendance:

Still clinging on

Pompey are still in there with two games to go, we did our bit by winning at home, Bristol sort of did theirs by only picking up a point.

Pompey won due to a massively deflected Scott Allan goal and a far pst header from Halford, a needlessly given away penalty by Luke Varney did little for the nerves, but our quest for an unlikely survival will go into the final week.

Allan took the award on the night, but I felt Halford did well in his more advanced role once more.

Shame West Ham let us down. Now, assuming we win our 2 games, Bristol only need 2 draws or 1 win. If the Hammers had won Bristol would have needed 1 win and a draw because of our better goal difference. We've got 2 winnable games left so let's hope Bristol only manage 1 draw and the greatest escape ever can be achieved.

Yep pity the hammers couldn't do brizzle- that would've set up an end of season drama. Not clean goals, very lucky in fact but at least it wasn't like the complete lack of effort against Millwall and it's about time some luck came our way. Still think its one game too late to start trying

following our draw against TOL scum, we lost at home in a game we were almost certain to win-maybe ,just Maybe Bristol C will do the same against Barnsley...

Bristol City have been in great form to be honest & that coupled with the lack of games to catch them mean it will probably be all over on Saturday. Just a shame it's not in our hands but I can't see Barnsley doing anything, a pathetic team on the road at the best of times. Anyway, was there last nite & yes we are getting some luck at last. Varney needs shooting, again. Good experience of pressure for the lads.

Oh my word . . well at least this is exciting - and we could still do it yet! PUP.
