Pompey 0 - Bristol Titty 0

Fratton

17/3/12

Attendance:

Pompey go blank again

Pompey fired yet another blank as they drew o-o with Bristol, this time Pompey knocked and knocked at the Bristol door, but instead of slotting through the letterbox, they could only hit the back gate.

The scoreline doesn't tell a story, Bristol offered very little going forward and Pompey bombed up the other end as much as possible, trouble is, our strikers are having a Sahara style drought right now, we had plenty of efforts, but never really threatened our ex-keeper, Varney looked rustier than the tin man and Norris got in the position but could not finish.

Pompey gave a first start to Micky Maguire from Shameless, he ran his boots off and was a real livewire, but he like the others in blue could not find the finishing touch when it mattered.

The closest Pompey came to a goal all game was when David James fumbled a cross from Maguire that spun agonisingly close to the far post, but Pompey could not get that little bit of luck once more.

More to follow.....

Star Player

In a day when we attacked and attacked, it was Rocha and Ben Haim who seemed to stand out still, they mopped up everything that came their way.

A frustrating game to be at. I accept staying in this division was always going to be a tough ask & a win was vital. Finishing again let us down despite at time some great appraoch work. Tougher homes games to come against Brum, Hull & Burnley. Highlight of the game was the chant of 'Jamo give us wave' as we were about to take a free kick. He may as well have as the wall blocked the attempt.
