Barnsley 2 - Pompey 0

Oakwell

18-02-12, 3pm

Attendance:

Barnsley 2-0 Pompey

Pompey went to Oakwell today fresh from administration, and a 10-point penalty, knowing it was fairly important, but not terminal, to come away with something.

All this was though was defeat.

With Kitson sent off before half time we were up against it, two late goals saw us slip to a 2-0 defeat and with that slip into the bottom three due to Forest winning!

Kitson.. an overpaid player truly behind the cause .. nuff said ..

Kitson is just not the player we need when we are up against it. The team need every player pulling their weight & he blows cold too often. Not a good day for us, in the bottom 3 & scum flying high, dohhhhh!

AA said there was an offer from Brighton ( for Kitten) and Pompey may well regret not taking it- lol who's have thought AA the footie visionary :-)

And now there is a points gap -and - an administrator who unlike AA has no ulterior motive to keep assets.

On a day when Pompey had the measure of their opposition, and a point was there for carrying out a good honest performance, a needless first booking was followed by poor judgement from a man with enough talent and experience to know better. Not much sympathy from the supporters at the ground either, as he took the long walk., Hhe let his team mates down, he let the fans who had travelled all that way down, and most of all, he let himself down. Barnsley knew they only had to wait until we tired, as was bound to happen. "Disappointing" doesn't cover it.

I hope he had a miserable coach ride back home. Scathing and seething, that's me!

are you saying that you feel admin andy would have looked to keep our assets russ?
are you sure about that...
he tried all that he could to offload at least 3 or 4 players before deadline day passed, and who would that have been in the best interest of?
yep we are in admin now but if i recall rightly we were not at the time - he was the administrator for CSI not PFC so trying to flog whatever he could at that point seems an ulterior motive to claw back as much money as he could, when he could, for his master chainrai as admin andy is/was clearly his lap dog...

Not a good day for you guys but worse was the fact you only had three on the bench. You are good enough to escape the drop but it does look as if some loanies are needed to boost the numbers. Keep fighting.
