Attendance:

Reserves - Pompey 3-0 Cheltenham

Pompey recorded a 3-0 friendly win over Cheltenham today after a couple of goals from Paris Cowan Hall and another from Danny Webber.

This game was played at our Eastleigh training ground with The Herminator featuring for 65 minutes - could this be enough for him to make his 1st team return at Stoke on Sunday though?

Below is the match report from The Pompey Site...

Pompey Reserves 3 Cheltenham Reserves 0

Pompey Reserves cruised to a comfortable victory over Cheltenham in a friendly match between the two sides, played at Pompey's training ground in Eastleigh.

Two goals from Paris Cowan Hall and another by Danny Webber sealed the win against the Blues' west country opponents.

The pair gave Cheltenham a torrid time combining twice to build a commanding lead.

On 13 minutes Webber worked his way to the by-line before pulling back the ball invitingly for Cowan-Hall, who wasted no time in stabbing it home.

Five minutes later the roles were reversed, as Pack found Cowen Hall who eased the ball into Webber's path for him to clinically net with an explosive finish.

Cheltenham had their moments with Hutton floating an effort narrowly over Ashdown's far post.

Then the Pompey keeper had to make a fine low one-handed save to keep out Pook's effort.

Whilst Lee nearly forced home at the near post only to see the ball deflected wide of the target.

But Pompey always retained the upper hand. Webber might have grabbed a second after a great through ball by Bopp but Richardson kept out his shot.

Gallagher came close to an own goal as he and Webber pursued a ball which the defender under pressure toe-poked narrowly wide of his own post.

But on 74 minutes Cowan-Hall bagged Pompey's third. His raking cross was hauled back by Pack on the by-line and when the ball came back to the winger he made no mistake.

And as another positive for Pompey, Hermann Hreidarsson came through 65 minutes of the closed door friendly.

The Icelandic defender eased his way back with a solid display even finding time to forge forward a couple of times to supplement the attack.

Pompey: Ashdown, Hurst, Hreidarsson (Sowah 65), Hughes, Wilkinson, Williamson, Pack, Bopp, Kilbey, Webber (du Chattelier 80), Cowan Hall (Nlundulu 75)

is the herminators 65-minutes enough for a place in the side against stoke?
is still think he will miss out, but would be amazed if he was not on the bench...

Bopp may be on the bench then?

At least it was a real reserve side rather than a team of Guys development squad. Useful run out for them all.

I reckon Paul Hart would love Herman back for the stoke game. But it will be a tough call I reckon....might get a cameo though. Just don't want him to get injured again. I notice our Mr Webber has found the net once more....could he be on the bench for Sunday?

Good that the Hermanator is back

would like to see cowen hall go out on loan and get some games under his belt. always seems to score for reserves.
