Wigan 1 - Pompey 0

JJB

24/5/09

Attendance:

Season typified in 90 mins

If ever 90 minutes summed up Pompey this term, this was it, a decent away following were let down with a lacklustre performance, a 'virus' decimated the team, the victims coincidentally are all likely to depart soon, Johnson, Davis and maybe even a disgruntled Belhadj.

Pompey headed North, safe, and promising to challenge for 12th and a further 1.5m for the coffers. Load of crap mate, Pompey were on holiday from the off, another negative looking line up set the tone, and another blank was fired, Pompey were as potent as an octogenerian alcoholic.

The match doesn't really bare talking about, Wigan hammered us first half, we improved a bit second half, but the statistic of 1 shot on target, 2 corners, 23 fouls and 4 yellows summed us up, not really in it and going through the motions.

Sorry to go out on a bum note with my reports, but I feel as flat as Kate Moss with it all right now, my glass is definitely half empty at the moment and the news that Pompey have made the first new signing of the summer in Mokena hardly gets my juices flowing.

Star Player

Begovic kept us in it, with Ashdown looking likely to depart, at least Jamo has decent back up if his 2 apperances are anything to go by.

I would be mightily fed up if Belhadj were to go. We never quite got the best out of him and I would be happy to watch him for years.

Listened to the game, sounds like a complete damp squib. They just couldn't be bothered, could they? Roll on next season.

I think the whole thing stinks! Mind you, it wasn't only us. Did you see Corluka for Spurs on MOTD last night. He was so blatantly on holiday, they singled him out with the cameras.

It was a bloody disgraceful performance. I don't care if it was last game and some of them are already on the beach mantally. As proffessional sportsmen they should be driven by pride in their efforts and repect for thier supporters. Really not good enough just to say we survived, job done! If Hart as he says is proud of his players, his standards are to low for Pompey at this level.

All of you who made the effort to travel up there must feel really cheated.

I fear that quite a few of the players have given no more than 50% effort since late October. Some games a lot & some games bugger all. Turn up & make up the numbers attitude. Absolutely stinks when you consider what they get paid & comapred to the outlay of the average supporter. Need a clear out from the top downwards for next season!
