Trotters v Pompey

Pompey make the trip upto the Manchester suburbs once again, this time to fave Vernon Kayes' favourites, the Lilywhites.

Vital Quotes:

Gary Megson has come out and said that he would like to have signed Jermain Defoe in the transfer window, you and about 15 other Premiership clubs Megson!
Matt Taylor and Andy O'brien both will have points to prove to Harry, O'brien has settled in up North, while Taylor is still finding his feet, his uncharacteristic penalty miss testament to that.

Bolton Team News:

Pompey favourite El-Hadji-Diouf is available after Africa cup exploits, the phlegmy one may return upfront, but Helguson netted last week and may hold down his spot with Kevin Davies (he who played for them)
Gavin McCann may make a return, but Joey O'Brien is hamstrung.

Player to watch: Nolan

Has found a bit of form since Little Sammy Lee went, he always seems to hit a spectacular 2 or 3 a season, and after a very peculiar performance at Fratton will be up for this one.

Pompey Team News:

Papa Wop-bop-a-wop-a-wop-bam-boo, is available again along with John Utaka after both their countries early departures from The African cup, The Wardrobe will be looking to feed our new aquisition upfront, the bedside cabinet.
Sulley Muntari stays out in Ghana to play a pointless 3rd/4th place play-off. Kanu however may make a cameo appearance after his knee injury has been found not to be as bad as feared.
Sylvain Distins' pig-string is still not right and will miss out once again.

Player to watch: Utaka

The Otter is back, he tore Bolton apart at Fratton, and after a somewhat subdued African exploit, will hopefully be firing on all cylinders, he has a new face to supply upfront after all!

Match Facts & Stats

Bolton have shored up a leaky defence by keeping 3 consecutive clean sheets, Pompeys' impressive away record has dipped off as of late, maybe something will give today? Not normally a happy hunting ground, but the odd success has been known!

Ref Watch:

Peter (John-boy) Walton

Match Prediction:

Whats it to be then? Will Pompey return to their away form of earlier, or will it be a new resolute Bolton we face? Have a punt here.

Nice one Paul... This is going to be a tough one but I think that we'll break them down early on and Andy O'Brien will be no match for Jermain so we'll score a few too... Matty Taylor will no dout open his Bolton account just to try and prove Harry wrong so I'm going for a 3-1 Pompey victory with Milan and Hermann (sneaking around the back) to get the other..... but i have to say that this is the first game in ages (a few seasons) that I can not predict how Harry is gona play... There;s so many options open to us now it's brilliant

great read as ever paul. i have this feeling that we might very well keep the team that played last weekend, if we do make a change maybe utaka will be the one to come in and if he does hopefully he will have changed his ways... i reckon we'll win this one, hell we must if we are going to keep up with the uefa cup challengers let alone the champions league ones - so im going 3-0!

I'm going for 1-1 i'm afraid. It's going to be a tight game and with dissy out i just feel a bit queezy about this one. After all it is b..... Bolton. Having said that if we perform like we did against Chelsea we might just sneak it. Going for harry playing a diamond..

but he came on and made a difference didnt he - so he was 'one to watch' really wasnt he... for the time being while he 'earns' a start i would hope that this is how we see him used for the time being tbh.
