Royals v Pompey Royals

Reading
vs.
Pompey

Two gutted teams come together tomorrow, Reading after scoring 4 times away from home and still coming away with a whooping, and Pompey after performing so abysmally hosting 'boro.

Vital Quotes:

'pompey are running on empty' that was Harrys summing up on Saturday. How he shuffles the pack only he knows, but after the lacklustre performance at home, something has got to give. I think maybe Kanu will slip to the bench, there is even a shock rumour that Nugent may get a start!

Reading Team News:

Nicky Shorey is battling a bug that kept him out of the Spurs clash, Gunnarsson is in the middle of a 3 match ban, and Duberry and Brown are back in training but doubts for a start.

Player to watch: Hunt

The Irishman is apparently the subject of a Roy Keane bid, but the Royals want to hang on to Petr Cechs first choice as best man, and his determined wing play and strong running will feature heavily tomorrow.

Pompey Team News:

Glen Johnson and Noe are still big doubts, as is Sean Davis. Mendes is expected to be recovered from illness, and Muttley will be hoping to resume in midfield.
The formation we go for is another quandry, the 4-5-1 has been great away from home, but are the players too lethargic to carry it through now?
I expect Taylor to appear at Left-back in place of Hermann and maybe the rare old sight of Nugent up front, whoever plays will have a great chance of stamping a place out in the side for the next few games.

Player to watch: Taylor

Rumours abide that he is off, but if he gets his sought after start will have a great deal to prove, both to Redknapp and any would be suitors, Reading supposedly one.

Match Facts & Stats

7-4 was the score at Fratton, remembered not only as a goalfest, but also as the last time we actually found the net at Fratton!

Match Prediction:

I can't predict my next meal at the moment, but hazard a guess here.

More than that I would say because of a very low starting point,

massive improvement needed tomorrow - hopefully 'arry will shake things up as much as possible, those that could/should be used are taylor and nuge... if we defend like we can and play as we can then we can win this one, im still not sure on a scoreline but i will of course be going for a pompey win!

another who i mentioned somewhere else earlier is mvuemba - i wouldnt be surprised to see him at least on the bench, as he is another option that we could use if others are 'out of juice'...

it wil be 6-6 draw and will go to a tie break, mind you it would be good to get more than one goal wouldnt it? Lets hope that we can get a result and kick start the season again.

I agree Penton, but whether we will get it while they are here I just don't know - I've a feeling Harry will stick with what he has done so far until they go .. if nothing else but to not risk injury to the players who will be left behind... I hope I'm wrong though

i too agree, but also agree with you too chix - and if not that many changes are made then i would hope it is for the reason you said, to not risk injuries to those that will be left behind, which does make sense but at the same time if they are 'running on empty' we have to have a re-think dont we, nuge looks like a starter today tho, which would be great!

Agreed chix, I can't see HR doing it either, but something desperate needs to happen, we're stale, lacking ideas, movement, passion, firepower, imagination the list goes on. Agreed this dip had to come, but it's the lack of belief I see that worries me, we seem to have no plan b. Some one please tell me what was the point of buying Mvumemba in the summer? does he live in England? has he left France? does Harry know we have him?
