Pompey v 'pool

The International break has finished and the serious stuff returns. Pompey's internationals have returned with a clean bill of health, so its virtuall a full strength side.

Vital Quotes:

Pompey's run against the Champions league qualifiers comes to an end tomorrow, only 1 point out a possible 9 so far, and after Chelsea's performance the Arsenal one bought everyone back down to Earth.

Pompey Team News:

Benjani and Campbell are both available again after their injuries, but they won't be joined by Primus who is still making his way back to full strength.
Niko Kranjcar will come back to us bouyed by his goal for his Country, and Papa Diop will be hoping for a first appearance in Pompey blue.
David James can pick the splinters out of his arse and take his rightful place between the sticks.

Player to watch: Muntari

Sulley will need to be at his ball-winning best against a free passing side as Liverpool. Arsenal showed what they could do, now its Pompeys turn to stop the scouse tide.

Liverpool Team News:

Carragher returns after a broken rib, Gerrard has shown no ill effects from his toe injury, but Steve Finnan is a doubt.

Player to watch: Torres

He has already put to bed any doubts over his adaptability to the English game, and his undoubted quality in front of goal will prove a stern test.

Match Facts & Stats

A Pompey win at home last year against an under-strength Liverpool was followed by an Asian cup win, this makes us the form side!!

Ref Watch:

Mike(Lard)Riley, after leaving his radio show with Mark Radcliffe, he can now concentrate on his reffing.

Match Prediction:

I can feel a draw coming on, but place your thoughts here.

Next Fixtures:

We stay in Lancashire with one at Blackburn, and then 2 days later at Burnley.

After Arsenal, will the real Pompey please stand up?

i dont (really) care what the score is, just so long as we play well, and i get the impression that we will have a good season - a feeling i did not get against arsnal. Lots of teams will drop points against these guys, but then again, it would be nice to pick some up as well.
pompeycarpet
come on Pompey - do em!
merlin
Ive put us down for a 1-0 win but my heart is often leading my head which says otherwise
plymouth graham
I hope for a win, would settle for a draw but fear for a loss. Right think that covers it..... Only 14 hours to go now....Come On......
L L Blue

eastneydave
12 hours to go now and out for a stag do straight after to celebrate 2-1!!
eastneydave
well i will have a sleepless night tomorrow no doubt with my little nephew prob keeping me awake all night when i go to stay with my bro and his missus, but if pompey can pick up the 3 points i couldnt give a stuff... heart says 3-1 win - as ive predicted in the pompey league - head says prob pompey defeat, but i would settle for a point! we usually do well against the 'better side' particularly at fratton so im going to stay positive and say we will win...
pompeyrug
Lets hope Pompey can pick up more than a point... by the sound of it eastneydave will be picking up more than a pint !
Chix
off to the gate now having paid my money on 2-1 win, should i have gone for the draw
russellm
people say that if liverpool want to win the title, they shouldnt be loosing to teams like us...man u laost to us, and it didnt stop them winning the title...but then, they did only loose to 3 teams...
pompeycarpet

merlin

L L Blue
How were you robbed??????
JohnDoe
Well, someone at your end nicked our football!!
pompey4me
JohnDoe, merlin isnt one of us mate i think he is chelski... pompey should have won, come on lets be honest even tho goatie benitez for some reason feels pompey had no 'clear cut chances in open play' - utaka and muntari chances, what were they!
