Pompey are on the road again, fresh from a first Fratton win at the weekend, when we travel to 'fellow strugglers' Yeovil tonight.
The weekend game against Scunny was almost a 'must win' game even though we were just about to move into October.
Technically we stand on -2pts now, a 'winnable' game at Yeovil gives us the chance to move into a positive total and with them on a poor run of form, with MK Dons coming up at the weekend for us, this would be an ideal time to get back-to-back wins!
Ed Upson - suspension - is out following a sending off at the weekend. With him described as 'an influential midfielder', 5 assists tends to suggest this is right, that might not be a bad thing!
James Hayter looks like he will be recalled up top.
Coming back into the starting 11, which it seems he will, should mean their joint top scorer will want to impress to stay in the side.
Appy was given another injury problem at the weekend, Darel Russell - hamstring - limped away from the win and will be out for a couple of weeks at least it seems. He joins Luke Rodgers - thigh - and Josh Thompson - ankle - in missing out.
Gabor Gyepes - ankle - should be fit though following his MOTM showing at the weekend.
New signing Akos Buzsaky is in the squad but a lack of fitness will see him, probably, start on the bench with Johnny Ertl getting Russell's spot in midfield, which I think is fair as I must say he impressed me when he came on.
The guy has not always been at his best since he arrived.
Again at the weekend he showed many sides of his game, not always good! He fluffed a sitter; luckily Gyepes made up for this but soon after then also saw a cracking effort come back off the bar. He did the hard work before hitting a post and put in the occasional hard work but generally looked lazy and disinterested again, spending a fair amount of time berating his teammates - I am not sure you can blame them if your first touch is pretty poor can you?
A confidence player perhaps that thrives on goals, but he needs to know that if he puts in a shift that will be worth enough for many among the Pompey faithful - if he puts in this shift great support for him will come and I suspect the goals will also follow...
Tonight will be the first ever-competitive meeting between the sides.
Pre-season friendlies have been played, with us going to Huish Park and winning 2-0 in 2007 when LuaLua and Geovani - then a trialist who went onto sign for Hull - scored in Nugent's first outing as a Pompey player.
How times have changed since then!
Dick Dastardly.
Getting the 'monkey off our back' of a first home win really should give us a lift, and facing a side that has lost 5 in a row really should see us going into this one 'rubbing our hands together', but this is Pompey we are talking about!

Away again at the weekend when we go to MK Dons, for what I think will be another first meeting with the side formerly known as Wimbledon.
