Pompey welcome Walsall to Fratton tomorrow, The Saddlers are undefeated on the road so far, and we of course have yet to win at home!
It doesn't matter what level we play at, but opposing managers always accuse us of paying over the odds in terms of wages, this time Dean Holden has spouted off about us paying 'good money' our wage limits have been well documented, so maybe we could focus on the field?
Walsall have had a decent enough start, a win at home and one away has set them up nicely, they have no big name players but do have a young hungry side.
One bonus I see tomorrow is the fact Walsall play football, not hack and hoof, this has alaways been the Walsall way as far as I can remember, that must of been what lured Paul Merson 9 years back!
Pompey will be without Gyepes who has sufffered ankle ligament damage on his debut, the arrival of Michalik offsets this a little, the experienced defender arriving on another rolling one month contract.
Ashley Harris will be banging down the managers door after another impressive substitute appearance, Dumbuya has also returned from international duty to boost the ranks.
Off and running now with his first 'proper' goal, hopefully his confidence has been boosted sufficiently enough for a run of goals!
Walsall are bouyed by th erturn of Will Grigg from international duty, while a familarish face will be in midfield. Florent Cuvelier is having an impressive loan spell from Stoke, he was another of the financial sacrifices from when our money woes first started.
We never got to see what the Belgian could do at fratton, he had a spell in the development squad and big things were hoped for him, he is of course part of the new wave of impressive Belgian's to be emerging at the the moment.
Pompey done the double last time we met, that was in our prem promotion party season, Toddy and Kevin Harper netting last time out in an away win.
