Crawley v Pompey

Pompey make a trip to 'local' rivals Crawley tomorrow for the first time, hoping the midweek JPT win has kick started their season.

Vital Quotes:

Crawley have seen a real turnaround in fortunes in recent seasons, almost going banrupt a few years back, a cash injection led to them springboarding into the league for the first ever time under Steve Evans, he has since departed but promotion was still earned last term and 9 points from 4 games bodes well for this season.

Crawley town Team News:

Crawley will reintroduce Gary Alexander, Kyle McFadzean, Hope Akpan and Nicky Ajose after resting them for the midweek cup game, Sergio Torres remains sidelined however with Claude Davis.

Player to watch: Gary Alexander

The veteran is older than Kanu, but this ones legs keep defying the odds to propel him on, now club captain at Crawley he extends his career still further and adds nous to the Crawley midfiled.

Pompey Team News:

Pompey will be without Dumbuya who is on International duty, he is joined by Connor Clifford who is with the Irish under 21's.

Paul Connolly has returned to Leeds after his groin injury again flared up. This is at least countered by the return of Lee Williamson from his hamstring injury. Gyepes will be available if needed after arriving midweek.

Player to watch: Howard

Our captain had a stormer on tuesday night, if he can keep it up we will be made up.

Obvious comment but after yesterday's matches and looking at our league position (mildly better than Scum) we need some sort of result. I did say it was obvious.
