Pompey v Leeds

Leeds travel to Fratton today in Warnock's first game, Pompey in a survival battle, Leeds trying to hit the play-offs.

Vital Quotes:

Pompey's whirlwind season is still spinning, Huseklepp flew out of the maelstrom this time with Allan getting sucked into the eye of the blue storm.

Trevor Birch seems to be calling it like it is, Pompey have been grossly mismanaged, not on the field but by the men in suits, this has had the latest knock on effect to the playing squad.

Leeds of course have bought in Neil Warnock to try and re-fire the play-off drive, the whites can emphasise if not sympathise with Pompey's current situation, they were one of the highest profile teams to crumble from the spend era, thay are now on the way back of course, but not after tumbling from grace with some force.

Pompey Team News:

Pompey have two enforced changes, Erik has departed of course, Allam looking likely to step straight into is boots, Kitson has to sit out a 1 match ban after walking last week, but hopefully Halford can return from his knee injury and Ward can shake off his latest knock.

Norris may make a surprise return to the bench is he comes through a fitness test.

Player to watch: Pearce

Again he looks like being pivotal at the back, he is the archtypical centre-back to Rocha's more cultured approach.

Leeds Team News:

Michael Brown will make a first return to Fratton after his career ground to halt, again because of money, Townsend has left after feeling unsettled at Elland road, while fellow loanee Delph has cut short his loan spell after an ankle injury cut short his season.

Player to watch: Snodgrass

He may sound like a Beano softie, but he has csrried on last seasons form with goals from an attacking midfield role.

Match Facts & Stats

Pugh got the winner at Elland road with a free header, Pompet drew 2-2 at Fratton last time and have an equal win/lose ratio with 14 of each.
