Pompey vs. West Ham

Fratton Park

Pompey v Irons

Pompey entertain West Ham at Fratton this afternoon, a double edged sword for some, win and scum stay top, and who wants to lose?

Vital Quotes:

I have seen around the message boards some people actually wanting Pompey to lose today so West ham can usurp the scummers at the top, that for me is absurd, as far as I'm concerned both the top two can get stuffed and Cardiff can go top!

Pompey Team News:

Pompey still have big doubts over Luke Varney up front, his knee problem is proving persistant and on-going.

Ricardo Rocha is another doubt after limping out of the Chelsea defeat, this may well lead to Ben haim again returning to the side as Mattock's return has been delayed.

Adam Webster made the bench last sunday, that highlights the thinness of our squad, with no imminent takeover this transfer window looks a wasted opportunity.

Player to watch: Futacs

Coming on leaps and bounds, left Terry on his arse last week, with West Ham's defence sometimes suspect he will have a big part to play.

West Ham Team News:

Old Fratton favourite Matt Taylor will be missing again in an injury filled season, Gary O should make the bench after his ankle problems, while Piquionne appears to have left West Ham for Wolves.

Another ex-blue Diop has figured heavily since joining last summer, so watch out Fratton end if he lines one up!

Player to watch: Nolan

Always got goals from midfield and is still Premiership class, if I recall has a decent record against us as well.

Match Facts & Stats

West ham squeaked through in a 7 goal game at the Boleyn, Pompey haven't beaten them since 2008 when a single Kranjcar saw us home.

God knows what diop and cole would be like on roller skates, they cant even stand up for two minutes with spikey things sticking out of the bottom of their shoes.
