Pompey make the relatively short trip to South Bermondsey, to face old foes Millwall on boxing day.
A few years back this fixture would of meant police all over London and police escorts all over the place, since those days things have soothed somewhat that it is becoming a regular Xmas fixture.
Millwall are situated below Pompey in the table, just above the drop zone, neither team will be feeling particularly happy with their spots in the table, both needing points to pull up the table.
Millwall have had their fair few injury problems this season, usual stopper Forde has missed 5 on the bounce but is nearing a return, in defence last week Baker limped off to be replaced by Stewart who then went off himself.
One boost will be the return of Jay Simpson who was ineligible last week, he will resume his partnership with Darius Henderson.
Liam Trotter also seems to be back in contention.
The ex-Watford man is arguably in the form of his life right now, scoring 12 goals in 15 games for the Lions, it is obvious where the onus for goals lies!
Pompey will have two enforced changes, skipper Lawrence has succumbed to another injury while George Thorne has had to return to parent club WBA, the latter will probably be the biggest loss after rising to the occasion in his short loan.
These two can at least be offset by the return of Luke Varney and Huseklepp, Varney has recovered from a knee injury while Erik will step up from the bench.
The local lad has really upped his game of late, last weeks goal will be a real lift as well, various managers have yet to decide his best position, maybe he has found it.
The Nugget scored last season to rescue a point for Pompey last boxing day, this ended a run od 4 straight wins for Pompey against the Lions.
