Pompey welcome Leicester to Fratton tomorrow, this was the defining match last season that got our season up and running.
First off, I am as sick of all the off field troubles as the next supporter, for nearly 3 years we have had turmoil off the pitch, we thought a new dawn had arrived with the stance that CSI had taken since arriving, the latest chaos may well threaten any stability once more, it also takes away from the home debut of Michael Appleton, what should of been all about a new on-field Pompey is now all about the same old, same old off-fiel crap.
Pompey will hopefully have anew approach tomorrow, Apples has had a look first hand the attitude, he has decided he doesn't like it, that is fair enough for me, I would much rather have 11 triers on the pitch than a couple of so called big names who turn it on when thay fancy it.
The two WBA loanees go straight into the squad, Mattock has more or less been sonfirmed as a starter in place of Ben Haim, this is to do with round pegs in the right holes more than anything, big Ben has played pretty well this season and may feel unfortunate to be benched.
Thorne may also step straight in as well, Apples has high hopes for the 18 year old, Ward is supposed to be most at risk, but I have a feeling it may well be Norris has been very inconsistent.
Been somewhat of a talisman at home, if Pompey can get him plenty of the ball, well, you know!
Leicester have been a harder side to break down away from home than in the midlands, 2 defeats so far is not too bad a return, thay were many predictors tips for the top at the start of the season, big money was spent, but so far they have flattered to decieve so far, being 2 points from the play-off zone is not bad in my book though.
Vassel is out for the season after damaging his knee, Peiter is the biggest worry for tomorrow however, he limped out of last weeks 3-0 win.
You know what to expect from Nugent, plenty of hard running and an eagerness to do well, all with a smile on his face, got to admit though, I wouls much rather see him in a one-on-one than than lining up a 30yard volley!
Pompey pulled off the double last season, Nugent netted in both, overall though Pompey have only won half as many as they have lost, 11 wins to 22 defeats.
Officially chosen by the FA's fit and proper department, Salman Butt
Splat down a prediction here.
Coventry next week also at Fratton

i may be totally wrong, but so long as the day-to-day costs are met, as are the payments as per the CVA agreement - do the others in CSI have the finances for this? - then albeit a 'bumpy ride' again we can get through this?
new owners AGAIN beckon, maybe we should put it down as crooks and villans only need apply...
