Pompey look ahead to Peterborough

Pompey will be looking to make it 6 points out of 6 on tuesday night, this will of course give lift off in the table and hopefully the season.

Vital Quotes:

Pompey look for back to back wins for the first time since March, the late late show against Blackpool was a timely boost to some beleagured fans, the first real rumbles of discontent were starting to make themselves heard, just a few mind, but another game without a win would soon have lead to a torrent.

Peterborough come into the game just a point better off than Pompey, like the blues they lost to an odd goal at the Boleyn on saturday, the defeat a slap after a solid start to the season.

Pompey Team News:

Pompey can add Riise to the squad after his loan capture, this adds yet more competition to a midfield already well contested for.

Varney serves the second of a 3 match ban, while Mokoena limped out at the weekend, this may see a return of fan favourite Rocha, unless of course Ward drops back and Riise steps straight in.

Player to watch: Benjani

Ran around like a loon on saturday, he was a bit cut adrift though, maybe on tuesday night he may get some assistance and get off and running.

Peterborough Team News:

Tomlin took a nasty whack at West Ham and looks likely for a long spell on the sidelines, Zakuani is playing through injury but may find a second game in 3 days too much.

Player to watch: McCann

The midfielder is a goal threat from deep, Pompey' midfield will need to be on their toes to keep his late runs out.

Match Facts & Stats

Pompey's last league win over 'boro was in 1993 when a Whiitingham hat trick saw Pompey win 4-0, since then it has been mainly cup meetings, overall Pompey just have the edge with 6 wins and 5 defeats in 19 matches.

I have a feeling Riise will come straight into the mix and play on the right.

Agreed Mr Frippy, and i guess Erik H will get the other wing; could well make Cotts prefferred system work.
