Anyone remember Harry Redknapps cry of 'down to the bare bones'? This generally came around the time of a transfer window peeping open, if only he could see Pompey now!

Pompey are in the middle of their worst squad crisis for a few months, if we were still in with a shout of making the play-offs, the recent run of injuries and suspensions would surely have curtailed that by now.

Steve Cotterill has spoken of his pride that Pompey have accrued as many points as they have what with the constraits the squad has found itself under all season, rightly so when you take a look at what is still standing as the season closes out.

Burnley are lifted by the return of marvin bartley after a 3 match suspension, he will add fresh legsa to a team still pushing hard for a play off spot.
McCann scored against Derby after 2 years sidelined and looks likely to continue.

Meanwhile Dean Marney may make the squad after missing the saturday fixture with injury.

Chris Eagles has caught the eye with some impressive displays in midfield, but for me the man who really stood out at Fratton was the countdown king Carlisle with a classy defensive performance.

Pompey look like having a threadbare bench once more, de Laet limped offf saturday with a calf injury, while Ron Weasley has a suspected broken rib, Liam lawrence missed that fixture with another calf injury of his own, so either Kanu or Webber look likely starters.

David Cotterill is available after missing against his parent club, this however would mean Sonko won't be able to feature as it pushes the loan numbers too high once more.

Thought highly of in Burnley and still 3 off of his target of 15 goals this season, time is running out mate!

Lost at Fratton a few weeks back, that brought an end to 5 straight wins against the clarets, our last loss at turf moor stretches back to the Mark Hateley era of 3rd division football back in '82!
