Swansea v Pompey

Pompey travel up to South Wales to take on another of the early high fliers in Swansea, the match is a Friday nighter presumably to accomodate the Welsh in their passion for Rugby union, still, it is their top sport!

Vital Quotes:

Swansea sit comfortably in third at the moment, Pompey's fantastic October has all come undone this month, defeats against Derby, Doncaster and Barnsley have curtailled a great turnaround, Swansea however have the opportunity of moving level with great rivals Cardiff, if only for 24 hours.

Swansea Team News:

Swansea have Alan Tate available again after suspension while Harry Monk is rated doubtful with a groin strain.

Player to watch: Sinclair

Never really made it at Chelsea being bandied around on loan, found his feet in snowy Wales though, 12 goals already so far.

Pompey Team News:

Pompey look likely to field an unchanged line-up again, we had hoped for a loanee to come in and freshen things up, but that came to nothing after all, so Joel Ward should deputise at left-back once more with Hermann waiting once more in the wings, the only real change that may be viable is Kanu to get the nod from the out of sorts Kitson, but our ginger-Ninja will probably get another go for his greater work ethic.

Player to watch: Lawrence

Has been our talisman all season, we really need another big game from him to halt our slide.

Match Facts & Stats

Last time we won against the Jacks was a 5-0 end of season match, the hat trick hero on the the day was Rod Stewart lookalike, idolised by the Pompey hoards, do the maths yourselves for that year!
Swansea of course ended our reign as FA cup holders, the game saw us crash out to a 2-0 home defeat, it really was the sign of things to come.

Ref Watch:

Kevin Rowland (come-on-the-eileen)

Match Prediction:

Go on then, you know what to do here.

Next Fixtures:

A return to Fratton against Burnley

I don't know anything about it except the score and that Nugent and Beattie scored. Swansea were SOOOOO cocky before the game. I read they couldn't wait to play Pompey so they could draw level with Cardiff. There's confidence boyo! Well, I'd call that a result! PUP!
