Millwall vs. Pompey

Millwall v Pompey

Pompey engage in a battle of the dockyards for the first time in 7 years, a lot has happened since then, Millwall dropped to the 3rd tier and Pompey of course had a spell in the top flight.

Vital Quotes:

Millwall won at Palace on saturday for their first win of the month, meanwhile Pompey of course got their 3rd win in four, the lions are still well above Pompey however after a great start to the season.

Millwall Team News:

Millwall welcome Dunne and Trotter back after suspension, while Jack Smith may struggle to start after missing saturday's win at Palace.

Player to watch: Morison

Morison had to drop right down the leagues for a while, but is the early goalscorer for Millwall as they enjoy a good start to the season.

Pompey Team News:

Pompey will be without captain Mokoena who has gained 5 bookings already this season, Sonko looks likely to step in.
Greg Halford may well debut if his proposed loan goes through in time, Joel Ward looks like being the unlucky man there.
John Utaka is recovering from a thight strain but may make it, while David Nugent has a virus and may struggle.

Player to watch: Brown

Been inspirational lately, if Millwall want to scrap, Brown is your man!

Match Facts & Stats

A 5-0 win for Pompey in 2003 as we swept all and sundry away in our promotion season, beside that though Millwall is a barren ground for wins, the last win before that was in 1985, a match played with no Pompey fans if I recall with Kevin O'Callaghan and Nicky Morgan scoring 2 each.

Ref Watch:

Lol Tolhurst

Match Prediction:

Pompey are the winning habit, will that continue in South London? Plonk a bet here.

Next Fixtures:

Hull in the North

Refs performances are normally laughable but you got a give it to Tolworth he's telling us in advance Lol.

Refs performances are normally laughable but you got a give it to Tolhurst he's advertising the fact- Lol. See this as a tough one tbh, I'll be ok with a draw providing we aren't robbed by some numpty decision of Tolworth. That said £10 of my money is going on a 2-1 win for Pompey.

5-0 last time without any fans there, so is a 25-0 win on the cards this time around.

Why were no fans there?
Gandor1
PS: Anyone going?
Gandor1
Away fans were banned due to crowd trouble the time before that. Was eerie, every time a goal went in you could hear the net ripple and every fan in the ground groan. It was surreal.
PompeyFrippy
had to opt against this one as i could not afford it among other thing - always hate missing games but cannot do them all can you...
this will be a battle, on and off the field, i reckon and i get this sneaky feeling that we will win the one on it!

Ah thanks.

Hm . . doesn't sound like its going all that well, still could be worse. Rocha has done a hamstring as well. Mind you, the commentator on Express FM is not very good either. Lets hope for a better second half!

1-0 thank you very much, that'll do! Excellent win.
